Chapter 452
Amara’s brow was furrowed in frustration.
“Of course not! Keith and I are friends. Can you please stop making these wild accusations p>
“Besides,” she added, a new thought occurring to her, “if Keith and I really had a child together, why would I be hiding it? I would have married him by now. Are you stupid? Why do you keep misunderstanding us p>
Her anger was so palpable that Finnian knew she was telling the truth. A weight lifted from his chest.
But then he remembered that even if she hadn’t been with Keith, she had still been with another man. She was still pregnant.
The pain in his heart returned with a vengeance.
“Amara, are you really going on a trip p>
Finnian suddenly recalled what Dorian had said the night before. He forced down the ache in his chest and looked her straight in the eye. “Or are you planning to leave to have the baby p>
She hadn’t expected him to figure it out so quickly. After a moment’s thought, she nodded. “I’m going to keep the baby. I was planning to go somewhere else for my pregnancy and give birth there p>
Finnian was the last person she wanted to know, but now that he did, there was no point in hiding it.
Seeing the resolve in her eyes, Finnian clenched his fists, unable to hold back the words any longer. “Then stay here p>
Amara froze, turning to look at him.
“Don’t go,” he said. “Wye has the best medical care in the country. You can have the baby here p>
“Besides, all your friends and family are here. You’ll have support. You won’t be all alone in a strange city p>
His words surprised her. She had expected him to pressure her to get an abortion, just as Keith had initially.
She seriously considered his proposal. Everything he said was true, and for a moment, she wavered.
Then she remembered Keith’s
injuries and felt a pang of concern. “Mr. Everly, think about it, but you don worry about me you should go home p>
She turned and hobbled away. Finnian watched her frail figure retreat, his heart clenching with the urge to run after her and pull her into his arms. But his legs felt like they were filled with lead, and he couldn’t move an inch.
Back in the hospital room, Elysia had left to deal with some business. Keith was sitting on the sofa, surrounded by bandages, antiseptic, and ointment.
When Amara returned, he waved her over. “Hey, come help me with this p>
Amara didn’t refuse. It was her foot that was injured, not her hands.
She limped over to the sofa and sat down, taking in the extent of his injuries.
Keith had a cut on the corner of his lip and a faint bruise forming on his cheekbone. Finnian hadn’t held back.
“Are you hurt anywhere else?” she asked, glancing at his jacket.
She uncapped the antiseptic and dabbed it onto a cotton ball, gently cleaning his wounds before applying the ointment.
“My body’s fine, just a sore left arm, but nothing’s broken. That bastard hits hard… Ouch, that stings p>
Keith winced as the alcohol touched his open cut but held still.
Amara shot him a look and softened her touch, carefully treating his injuries.
He watched her silently for a
moment before speaking. “You know, you should stay. Finnian knows you’re pregnant now, there’s no one left to hide it from. Just stay in Wye.” ‘
