Not long ago, when Finnian wanted to divorce her, she and Elysia had gone out shopping together. That was the first time she saw Finnian with Liliana. In that moment, she felt exactly the same way-like her whole world had gone gray.
“Ama, look at what Dorian and Jessica are talking about. Jessica told him she was on her period and that she had cramps. Is that something you should share with a married man?”
“And Dorian doesn’t even try to keep his distance. He tells her to watch her diet and to be careful. Tell me—is that really appropriate for a married man to say to a single young woman?”
“But conversations like this are completely normal between the two of them.”
“Sometimes I feel like Dorian’s care and affection for Jessica are etched into his bones, and that’s never going to change.”
Elysia spoke softly. Only after she finished did she realize tears were streaming down her face.
Amara’s heart ached for her so much, she cursed Dorian a thousand times in her mind.
She had pitied Elysia and resented Dorian before, but never as intensely as she did
now.
Pushing her own emotions aside, she asked, “So what are you going to do now? Honestly, I think you should get a divorce. If you two don’t separate, it’s only okay if you really don’t care about Dorian anymore. But if you have even the slightest feelings left for him, you’ll never be happy.
Amara had been through this herself. She understood these emotional ups and downs all too well, and she didn’t want her friend to repeat her mistakes.
Elysia shook her head. “There’s no way I could completely stop caring about him, unless we were forced apart for ten years and never saw each other.”
“Now, I see him every day. Even though he annoys me sometimes, I still love him. I know that much.”
She covered her still-flat belly and murmured, “I don’t know what to do. I’ve actually thought about it-maybe I should do what you did: keep my pregnancy a secret, divorce him, and raise the child by myself. But i’m still hesitating…”
Amara patted her hand. “It’s been about fifty days, right? If you terminate the pregnancy in the first trimester, it won’t be too hard on your body. But after three months, it’s much riskier. You need to make up your mind in the next couple of months.”
Elysia nodded. “I know.”
Amara comforted Elysia a bit more. Seeing how downcast and exhausted she
looked, she urged her to rest, then quietly left her home.
As she walked down the street, Amara felt utterly exhausted. So much had happened in the last few days.

Not far away, a black luxury car slowly approached. Dorian was behind the wheel, with Finnian in the passenger seat. They had just finished a business meeting and were planning to head to Dorian’s place.
