Letting go of a relationship that had lasted so many years was deeply painful— something Amara understood all too well from her own experience. She completely empathized with Elysia.

Soon, Elysia cried herself to sleep and retreated to her bedroom, but Amara felt wide awake.

After washing up, Amara stood by the window, opened it for some fresh air, and looked up at the bright, full moon. Her mind was a jumble of thoughts.

Suddenly, she sensed something outside. Looking out, she spotted a figure standing beyond the villa’s yard. Even from a distance, she recognized him instantly—it was Finnian.

She froze in surprise. What was Finnian doing here in the middle of the night, standing outside her window instead of sleeping?

After a moment’s hesitation, Amara grabbed a jacket, wrapped it around herself, and walked out of her room.

Finnian had driven over and parked his car at the end of the street. He leaned against it, gazing up at the villa’s windows, unsure which one belonged to Amara.

After a while, he saw Amara’s silhouette appear behind one of the windows. He was a little taken aback-why wasn’t she asleep, and why was she standing by the window looking at the moon?

Soon, it seemed she had noticed him, because she disappeared from sight.

Finnian suddenly felt anxious. Would Amara be upset if she realized he was here? He hesitated, wondering if he should leave, but before long, he saw Amara come out through the gate and walk toward him.

“Mr. Everly, is there something you need?” Amara asked.

Finnian hadn’t expected to be caught. Should he tell her the truth?

He wanted to see her he just missed her. But if he admitted that, would Amara be angry?

After a moment’s thought, he said, “I just came by to see if you and Elysia needed any help.”

It was an obvious excuse, but Amara didn’t call him out on it. She simply replied,

“We’re fine. Elysia is already asleep, and I don’t need anything.”

Finnian nodded. “As long as you’re both okay, I’ll get going.”

“Alright. Drive safe, Mr. Everly.”

Finnian had helped her quite a bit these past few days, so Amara wasn’t particularly upset to see him show up like this.

Seeing that she wasn’t displeased,

Finnian felt relieved. He turned to

open his car door, but then seemed to think of something else. He turned back and said “Amara after everything that’s happened with Dorian, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I know there were many times in the past when I let you down. I’ve been wanting to apologize.”

Amara’s heart tightened for a moment.

Why was he bringing this up out of nowhere?

She lowered her head and said softly, “It’s alright. You’ve saved me more than once. That’s something I can never repay.”

Finnian had saved her life several times, so even though he had hurt her, she couldn’t bring herself to truly blame him.

But now he was about to marry Liliana, and after everything the two of them had

been through, she knew this was where things had to end.

Amara slowly walked back into the house, turned off the lights, and lay down on her bed, feeling unsettled by what had just happened.

For the next couple of days, Amara stayed at the villa with Elysia. Once Elysia’s spirits had recovered a bit, she returned to the Moon family estate and told them she wanted a divorce from Dorian.

As expected, the news caused an uproar throughout the Moon family.
