So he didn’t follow them out, but his eyes remained fixed on Amara’s back, unable to look away for a long time.

Outside, Amara led Tina onto the street.

Finally away from the noise of the main hall, Amara stood at the curb, watching the endless flow of traffic under the dim night. For a moment, she felt truly lost, unsure of where to go next.

“Ms. Sullivan, did I do something wrong?” Tina’s timid voice broke the silence.

“I’m sorry. I think I let your secret slip. I was just so angry seeing everyone bully you -I shouldn’t have said what I did…”

It was only now that Tina realized she had revealed Amara’s biggest secret—a

secret that would surely turn Amara’s life upside down.

She was overwhelmed by guilt and fear, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Amara sighed and took out a tissue, gently wiping Tina’s face. “Don’t cry. This isn’t your fault. You only did it because you care about me. I should be thanking you.”

Although Tina was the cause of this mess, what was done was done. The girl truly meant no harm, and Amara had no heart to blame her-only to comfort.

Tina was moved even more by her kindness and felt the urge to cry harder.

“Ms. Sullivan, thank you for getting me out of there. I really mean it.”

Thinking back to what she’d blurted out in front of everyone, and how she’d even, without meaning to, dragged Finnian into things with just a glance—if Amara hadn’t taken her away, Emma and Liliana would have torn her apart. She was genuinely grateful to Amara.

Amara shook her head. “It’s nothing. Let’s just get out of here.”

The most important thing now was to leave the Everly estate. Amara pulled out her phone, called a cab, and they both got in.

It was already late. Tina couldn’t go back to the Everly estate, and with her own apartment still under renovation, she had nowhere else to go. After talking it over, the two decided to just find a hotel for the night.

Everything that had happened today felt surreal. It had only been two hours, but Amara felt as if two days had passed. She was exhausted, utterly drained.

Even though she’d managed to leave the Everly estate, she’d left behind a huge

mess.

And now, her biggest secret was out. She could already imagine how people would gossip in the coming days, and how Finnian and the others would try to track her down, pressuring her for the truth.

Just thinking about it gave Amara a headache. Worn out, she took a shower, then

lay on the big hotel bed, closed her eyes, and tried to figure out what to do next.

Meanwhile, Tina went to shower. As the water poured over her, she couldn’t stop thinking-should she tell Amara about how Liliana had secretly sneaked into Finnian’s room that day and taken credit for Amara’s accomplishment?

She knew she probably should. But suddenly she remembered the way Liliana had looked at Amara earlier—so vicious and frightening—that Tina shuddered.

Amara was Mr. Kevin Everly’s publicly acknowledged god-granddaughter, and yet Liliana had dared to look at her like that in front of everyone. It spoke volumes about how bold Liliana really was.
