Chapter 796
Keith then asked her about the house, wondering how the renovations were coming along.
Amara replied, “They’re almost done. Once they are, I’ll let it air out for about six months before moving in.”
The thought made Amara hesitate. Once the house was ready, should she actually move?
Moving was such a hassle, and more importantly, she was quite happy living in the villa.
Although it was her and Finnian’s marital home, Finnian had hardly visited since they bought it, leaving almost no trace of his life there.
He did have some things there before, but he’d moved them all out. So the house was entirely Amara’s, and living there didn’t constantly remind her of Finnian and make her unhappy.
Besides, she had lived there for so many years and had grown attached to the place. The location and amenities were excellent, so she was still undecided about moving.
Amara had discussed this with Keith before. He had said, “You should still move. A change of scenery will be good for you.”
Even though Amara claimed the house held no trace of Finnian and wouldn’t remind her of him, Keith felt uneasy just thinking about it being their marital home. He didn’t want Amara to live there.
Just as Amara was about to reply, a figure approached them. “Are you two chatting? What are you talking about?”
The voice was somewhat unfamiliar. Amara and Keith instinctively turned to see a girl in her twenties standing before them.
She was wearing a pink, vintage-style dress that was clearly a costume from another era. This girl was Emma’s niece, Antonia.
Naturally, Amara had no fond
feelings for Antonia. It wasn’t just because she was Emma’s niece and bore a slight resemblance to her but also because of Antonia’s
personality.
Antonia had been spoiled by the Everly family her whole life, developing an
arrogant, self-centered “princess” personality.
Today was the first day of filming, and though Amara had only been around Antonia for a day without any direct interaction she had afready seen her ordering the crew around arrogantly.
Her condescending tone made it seem as if the crew weren’t working for the production but were her family’s personal servants.
Since Amara had often been ordered around in that same tone by Fiona, Elowen, and others in the past, she despised such behavior and couldn’t help but dislike Antonia.
So, after a quick glance, Amara turned away, not wanting to engage with her.
Keith noticed Amara’s reluctance to speak with Antonia. He had also heard that Antonia was Emma’s niece and had a natural aversion to her, so he ignored her as well.
And so, after Antonia spoke, she was met with complete silence.
Seeing this, Antonia stomped her foot in frustration. “Hey, didn’t you hear me? What are you two talking about?”
She took a few steps forward, intending to get a better look at Amara.
And then Antonia realized that Amara was even more stunning up close.
Her features were flawless, and her skin was so smooth it didn’t seem to
have a single pore Even with the
ost critical eye, it was impossible to find a single flaw, which infuriated her even more.
Seeing Antonia getting right in her face, Amara looked up and said coolly, “Can I help you?”
