Chapter 797
Antonia bit her lip. “I’ve been wanting to get a look at you.”
“Why would you want to look at me?”
Amara asked with a frown, finding Antonia very strange.
Antonia clenched her jaw, annoyed as she recalled how Amara and Keith had been whispering and had then completely ignored her.
She had been raised as a little princess, doted on by her family. While other families favored sons over daughters, hers was the opposite. Her grandparents adored her far more than her male cousins, and all her aunts and uncles spoiled her rotten.
Everywhere she went, she was treated like a princess. She had never experienced being deliberately ignored like Amara and Keith had just done, and the thought of it made her furious.
So, she said deliberately, “I’ve never met a woman who got pregnant out of wedlock before. The women I know are all very proper and principled. I wanted to see what that kind of woman looks like.”
The comment was incredibly rude. Amara frowned, about to clap back, when Keith cut in, “Who do you think you are, coming over here to criticize people just because you’re bored?”
“If you’re that restless, go find a wall to bang your head against instead of coming over here and spouting nonsense.”
Amara burst out laughing.
Keith’s words were so savage. Telling her to bang her head against a wall was a brutal shutdown.
Antonia wasn’t an idiot; she obviously understood Keith’s insult.
Her face flushed with anger. “I’m not that kind of person! Why would you say that about me? You’ve misunderstood me!”
Antonia bit her lip, looking at Keith with a hurt expression.
Seeing her act this way, something suddenly clicked for Amara in a flash of insight.
She finally understood why Antonia, an actress with a strong
background, would fight for the role of the second female lead in ‘Letters from yesterday’ a film that clearly, revolved around the male
protagonist with even the main actress having limited screen time.
While Amara was busy piecing this together, tears were already welling up in Antonia’s eyes.
Keith looked at her impatiently. “What are you crying for? Was I wrong? You come over here for no reason to judge someone, and you think you’re in the right?”
“Just go. Don’t cry in front of us, making it look like we’re bullying you. Go on, get out of here.”
Keith wasn’t a bad guy, but he was certainly no saint either. He never minced words with people who annoyed him.
Especially since what Antonia had said about Amara was so nasty, he was even angrier and didn’t care that she was a girl, telling her directly to leave.
He was kicking her out so bluntly that even the most thick-skinned person couldn’t have stayed.
Antonia shot him a wounded look,
then glared daggers at Amara before
turning and running off.
After Antonia had gone, Amara immediately nudged Keith with her elbow and said gossipily, “She likes you!”
“I was curious before. She has such
a good background and a solid
position in the industry; she could
easily land a leading role. Why was he seager to be the to be the second
female lead in ‘Letters from
Yesterday’ after being dropped as
the lead? It turns out it was to get to you.”
Keith had, of course, sensed Antonia’s feelings for him. Seeing Amara looking at him with such a gossipy expression, without a hint of anger or jealousy, he was immediately displeased.
“What’s that supposed to mean? Another woman likes me, and you’re not angry at all?”
