Chapter 837
Elysia grasped Amara’s hand tightly. “There’s no avoiding the pain right now. The only silver lining is that you’re still young. You have all the time in the world to slowly wash Finnian out of your life. I know you’ll get there.”
“As for him, if he ever dares to show up and feed you more garbage, mock him. Walk away. If you have to, slap him again. Whatever you do, never let him make you feel less than you are.”
Amara nodded. “I know it’s going to be brutal, but it’s the only way forward.”
The heavy atmosphere hung over the room, leaving both women in somber silence.
Just then, Nora walked in carrying a fruit platter. Setting it down, she chimed in, “Elysia, Amara, I saw the trending topics too.”
“Normally, stunt harnesses are incredibly secure. Since they are literally life-saving equipment, the crew does rigorous checks before every single use. If a wire looks even slightly worn or loose, the director immediately calls maintenance.”
“These actors are worth millions. If one of them gets hurt because of faulty equipment, the production company would be bankrupt from the lawsuits. They double and triple-check those harnesses to make absolutely sure nothing goes wrong.”
“As for Liliana falling… I’d bet anything she tampered with the rig herself. She jumped on purpose.”
Amara and Elysia exchanged a stunned look.
Amara was the first to speak. “Why would she throw herself off? Is she really that psychotic?”
“Falling from over six feet might not kill you, but you’re almost guaranteed to get seriously hurt. Why would she take that risk?”
As one of the people who knew Liliana best in the world, Nora let out a dark scoff. “Why else? To force Mr. Everly to come see her.”
“Her mind is a terrifying place. She is incredibly ruthless-not just to her enemies, but to herself. If it means getting what she wants, she will tear herself apart She’s completely unhinged. The things she does would make a normal person sick to their stomach.”
Amara opened her mouth, but the words died in her throat. Memories of Liliana lying about saving
Finnian’s life and faking a pregnancy
leaving her
suddenly rushed back, leaving her
completely speechless.
Nora was right. Liliana was a woman with a terrifying amount of audacity, fully
capable of inflicting brutal pain on herself.
When viewed through that lens, Liliana was truly formidable.
Amara remembered what Liliana had told her before-that she still loved Finnian
and would do whatever it took to win him back.
At the time, Amara couldn’t fathom how she planned to do it. Now she knew, and it sent chills down her spine.
But she had to admit, Liliana’s strategy was terrifyingly effective. Finnian had rushed to the hospital the second he heard the news, hadn’t he?
Liliana understood Finnian perfectly. She wouldn’t have crippled herself unless she was absolutely certain it would bring him running.
She was a brilliant, calculating
woman. If she was willing to gamble
with her own body, it meant sł
knew Finnian would catch her. Ima
twisted way, their devotion was mutual.
“Liliana is truly a force to be reckoned with,” Amara murmured. “And Finnian’s devotion to her is unmatched. They really do deserve each other.”
Nora opened her mouth to argue.
Deep down, she was convinced Finnian didn’t love Liliana at all; he only loved Amara.
