Seeing she was busy, Larry waved her off, and Amara headed out.

Just as she stepped out of the study to leave the Sullivan house, she saw Fiona Faye Sullivan standing by the door, glaring at her darkly.

Compared to a few days ago, Fiona’s entire appearance had morphed into something gaunt and terrifying, almost skeletal. It sent a chill down Amara’s spine.

Fiona had lost a shocking amount of weight. Already slim, she was now completely withered, barely looking human.

Amara knew Fiona hated her. Because of Amara, Elowen Sullivan was still grounded, with no end in sight. Fiona’s hatred must have reached a boiling point.

Not wanting to engage, Amara turned to leave, but Fiona stepped forward and hissed in her ear, “You’re going to pay for this, Amara!”

A heavy silence hung in the air.

What did that even mean? Was Fiona implying that Amara would face retribution for what happened to Elowen?

Amara found Fiona’s twisted logic amusing. There was no point in reasoning with someone so delusional; it would only be a waste of breath.

She narrowed her eyes, feigning a cheerful smile. “Fiona, the fact that someone as calculating as you is reduced to spouting empty threats proves you and your daughter are truly backed into a corner. I think you’re the ones paying the price.”

Fiona was left completely speechless.

Her fury flared instantly. She glared at Amara with venomous intensity but couldn’t utter a single word of rebuttal.

It was true-she was out of options. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have resorted to useless threats. What good were threats anyway?

Seeing Fiona rendered mute felt like a victory, but Amara wasn’t done yet.

Fiona had deliberately tried to unsettle her, so Amara was going to return the favor.

“Remember this, Fiona. This is only the beginning. The worst is yet to come for you and Elowen.”

“And by the way, my life has been wonderful lately. I wake up happy every single day, and seeing you two so miserable makes me even happier.”

She said it purely to provoke her, and it worked. Fiona looked utterly deranged, as if she wanted to lunge forward and tear Amara apart.

But Amara knew she wouldn’t. Fiona

still clung to a shred of

sanity otherwise she would have

attacked physically instead of

whispering threats.

Unafraid, Amara shot her a dismissive glance and walked away with a triumphant spring in her step.

Once she left the Sullivan estate, however, her expression fell. She wasn’t nearly as happy as she pretended to be.

The thought of returning to the set weighed heavily on her. Everyone there knew about the drama with Finnlan, making it a highly uncomfortable prospect.

Even when she parked her car outside the studio, she hesitated, unsure of how to

face the crew. She sat in the driver’s seat, paralyzed.

But then she realized she was acting like a child dreading school. She was a grown woman; she couldn’t pull stunts like this.

With a self-deprecating smile, she stepped out of the car and headed toward the set.

Finnian’s Twitter post was still trending, refusing to drop down the ranks.
