Chapter 898
Amara couldn’t help but gasp. She was absolutely livid. Pushing herself up, she
planted her hands against Finnian’s solid chest and snapped angrily, “Finnian, what are you doing? Are you out of your mind?!”
She knew this position was deeply compromising, especially with Dorian standing right there. It was wildly inappropriate.
But she was genuinely exhausted and lacked the strength to immediately push herself up, forcing her to lean on his chest for a brief moment.
And because of that, she was even more furious, immediately resorting to scolding him.
After scolding him, Amara glared at him one last time before finally catching her breath. She stood up, took two steps back, and crouched down to gather her scattered belongings.
Dorian gave her a contemplative look. Knowing she was pregnant and shouldn’t be bending over much, he crouched down to help.
He picked up a set of keys and a tube of hand cream, handing them over. Then, he reached for a folded piece of paper, absentmindedly glancing at it.
As he prepared to hand the slip back to Amara, his eyes caught a line of text, and he froze.
It was nothing other than the late-term abortion appointment slip.
Dorian’s head snapped up, the color draining from his face. “Amara, you’re getting an abortion?”
Amara’s heart skipped a beat. She snatched the slip out of his hand and blindly shoved it into her bag.
“No, you read it wrong. I’m leaving.”
She fought to maintain a cold facade as she spoke, standing up quickly and making a beeline for the exit.
Now that Dorian had seen the slip, there was no way he was going to let her walk out that easily.
Taking advantage of his long legs, he closed the distance in a few massive strides, cutting her off right outside the apartment door before she could press the elevator button.
Amara was forced to halt. Clutching her bag tightly, she glared at him. “What do you want?”
Dorian’s face was remarkably grim. He stared at her bag but didn’t reach out to grab
it.
He had an excellent memory. He
knew exactly what he had seen-it
was a late-term abortion
appointment slip. The patient’s pame was Amara Sullivan, and the date was the day after tomorrow. He was absolutely certain of it,
He retracted his gaze, looking at her in utter disbelief. “You’re planning to abort the
baby behind his back? You aren’t going to tell Finnian?”
If Finnian knew about this, he would undoubtedly stop her, and Dorian would have heard about the ensuing chaos. The fact that he hadn’t heard whisper meant Finnian was completely in the dark.
Amara replied with a frosty expression, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. Please step aside.”
Seeing her reaction only confirmed his suspicions.
He raised his voice. “You really are planning to sneak behind his back and kill the baby. How can you be so heartless?”
Amara truly was Elysia’s best friend. Both of them were more than willing to secretly kill their unborn children without breathing a word to their men. How could they do such a thing?
Dorian had gradually managed to block out the agonizing pain of Elysia’s abortion. But the moment he saw that medical slip, all that trauma came rushing back to the surface, bringing an overwhelming wave of misery with it.
Amara had fully intended to leave, but his words stoked her anger. Lifting her chin, she shot back, “Heartless? The heartless ones are you men!”
“…I know exactly what you’re thinking!”
Seeing
about to argue,
Dorian a
Amara cut him off. “You’re blaming Elysia for aborting the baby without telling you! But ask yourself, if you hadn greated her southlessly if you hadn’t spent all your time chasing after Jessica Bishop, would Elysia have been driven to make such a drastic choice?”
