Chapter 935
“You are so unreasonable, Antonia,” Amara fired back. “You really have a talent for being an absolute nuisance.”
Her anger kept rising.
The only reason Antonia was even in her face right now was because of Finnian, the same man who had been making her life a living hell lately.
Furious, she blurted out, “No wonder you’re family. You and your cousin are two of a kind!”
“”
Finnian stepped out of the lounge just in time to hear Amara declare that he and Antonia were ‘two of a kind’. His entire body went rigid.
Having a tall, intimidating man standing right behind her was hard to miss. Amara felt his presence instantly.
She spun around and shot him a blistering glare.
He was the one who had forced his way into her space, and now his cousin was out here insulting her. The more she thought about it, the more furious she became.
She didn’t even want to look at him anymore. Ignoring him entirely, she pushed past him back into her lounge and slammed the door shut.
Knock, knock, knock.
The second she was inside, the knocking started again.
Amara scowled. It didn’t take a genius to know Finnian was the one knocking. Getting shut out of a room would definitely piss him off.
She thought about it for a second, then grabbed the things he had left on the table and marched over to open the door.
It was indeed Finnian. He had barely knocked twice before she ripped the door open.
Before he could even register her face, she shoved a stack of paper bags and the folder right into his chest. It was all the gifts he had brought her.
Then, her voice cut through the air, cold and sharp. “Take your things and leave. I have work to do, and I don’t want to look at you.”
Bang. The door slammed in his face again, followed by the distinct click of the lock.
Amara’s movements were so fluid and fast that Finnian didn’t even have time to react before he was staring at a closed door.
His brow furrowed deeply as he slowly turned his head to glare at Antonia. His gaze was terrifyingly severe.
“…Finnian,” Antonia squeaked.
She stepped back in fear.
She knew
she had messed up. She dared to antagonize Amara, but she absolutely didn’t have the guts to cross tier cousin. “I didn’t mean anything by it, I swear. Don’t
misunderstand,” she babbled quickly before turning and bolting down the hallway.
Finnian frowned. Antonia really was a piece of work.
Though he was thoroughly displeased with his cousin,
disciplining her wasn’t his priority. Getting Amara to
open the door
was. So, he didn’t chase after
Antonia.
He had come today with nothing but sincerity.
If he was going to win Amara back, words wouldn’t be enough; he needed action. He understood that.
But before he could even make his case, Antonia had ruined it. He couldn’t just let it end like this.
He immediately started knocking again, calling out for Amara to let him in.
But this time, it seemed she wasn’t going to budge.
Inside, Amara had thrown herself
onto the bed. Not even two minutes had passed before the knocking. resumed a steady, unrelenting rhythm, accompanied by Finnian’s voice demanding she open up.
Amara squeezed her eyes shut and rolled over.
Honestly, she hadn’t been completely unmoved by what Finnian had brought today.
After all, it wasn’t just a box of chocolates. It was billions of dollars in assets.
No matter how rich Finnian was, money didn’t grow on trees. He definitely valued those assets, yet he was willing to just hand them over to her…
