Natalie smiled, her flaming red lips looking so tempting he wanted to kiss them.
“Sebastian, if you can fool around with Joanna, why can’t I see other men? You got to build your empire in your prime, and I can do the same.”
“The world is full of handsome men-mature ones, gorgeous ones, pretty boys, bad boys, you name it. Without you, I can find anyone I want.”
The image of her standing next to that man, smiling so brightly, flashed in Sebastian’s mind. Fury surged through him, and he suddenly lunged forward, his hand clamping around her neck. “Natalie,” he said, his voice dangerously low, “we are not divorced yet. You’d better behave.”
“Why… should I? There’s… nothing left between us. If you won’t agree to a divorce, then we can both do whatever we want. My business is none of your concern. To me, you’re a nobody now.”
His grip was painfully tight. Tears welled in her eyes as she glared at him.
Seeing the pain on her face, Sebastian abruptly let go.
Natalie choked, struggling for breath.
Sebastian frowned. Why did she always have to provoke him?
He was suddenly aware that every little thing she did tugged at his emotions.
She could ignite his anger with terrifying ease.
Natalie took a deep breath, her tear-filled eyes fixed on him. “You bastard, Sebastian. You’re an incredibly narcissistic and deeply insecure monster who can never admit his own weaknesses or mistakes.”
“You always use force like this to prove how strong you are, hurting me to validate your power. You’re utterly shameless.”
“You’re a selfish, self-serving bastard with no moral compass.”
Natalie rubbed her bruised neck. Her throat was sore and swollen, and a wave of indignation washed over her. She started to cry, but even through her tears, she had to say what was on her mind.
Sebastian was too strong; she was no match for him.
Sebastian frowned. Selfish? No moral compass? Hurting her to prove his strength?
He looked at her, and it dawned on him that she might be right.

When Sebastian’s icy gaze met hers, she quickly shifted away.
“Sebastian, if you ever lay a hand on me again, I’ll poison you.”
Natalie’s voice was hoarse.
Sebastian frowned, looking at the purple marks, on her throat and hearing the rasp in her voice. He clenched his fists. He hadn’t even squeezed that hard, but her neck was already bruised. Her skin was so delicate

Silence filled the car, broken only by the sound of traffic outside.
Natalie’s breathing was heavy. Her throat, already a sensitive area, ached from Sebastian’s powerful grip.
The drive to the family estate would take at least forty minutes.
Natalie leaned against the car door, closing her eyes and keeping her distance from Sebastian.
