Chapter 461

Natalie had dinner with Matthew, and he drove her home personally.

She was exhausted from the day, so she didn’t invite him in.

Just after Matthew left and she had locked the villa’s main gate, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Thinking Matthew had come back for something, she opened the door without looking and called out, “Mr. Monroe…”

When she saw it was Sebastian, she stopped short.

She frowned. “Sebastian, what are you doing here?”

Sebastian’s smile was thin and laced with amusement. “What? Disappointed to see it’s me and not Mr. Monroe?”

“A little, yes.” Natalie tried to shut the door. She didn’t know how he’d found her, but she knew living in the same city meant he’d discover her location eventually.

The house wasn’t in her name, so even if Sebastian tried to look it up, he wouldn’t find anything.

Sebastian surveyed the luxurious villa. It made sense now why she didn’t seem to care about his money.

His gaze turned cold as he looked at her. “Natalie, did Keith buy this house for you?”

If he had known Natalie’s true identity back then, he would have given her the best of everything.

He could have given her a mansion like this, too. But why did she have to hide who she was for so long?

Hearing the sarcasm in his voice, Natalie offered a faint smile. “Who bought it for me is none of your business. It’s late, and I need to rest. Please leave, Mr. Griffith.”

Natalie tried to close the door, but Sebastian pushed it open with a light shove.

He stepped inside, closed the door behind him, and a playful smile touched his lips. “I’m your husband. Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Natalie was speechless. What was wrong with him tonight?

“Sebastian, I… have no desire to invite you in. You have no right to be here.”

The four people this house was dedicated to had all lost their lives because he had helped Joanna.

Sebastian’s expression darkened instantly, his tone dripping with scorn. “Natalie, you said you loved me, but I guess it wasn’t that much, was it?”

A sharp pain shot through Natalie’s chest at his mocking words.

She was prone to tears, and heartbreaking words always made her eyes well up.

“Sebastian, you can doubt anything else about me, but you can’t doubt the love had for you these past two years. If my love seems like nothing, now, it’s because you were the one who snuffed it out, piece by piece.”

“So, you’re saying you don’t love me anymore. I turned down so many job offers to take care of you two years ago. You’ve always been selfish, judging me and condemning me with nothing but your words you never believed me. I was your wife, yet you always had your weapon pointed at me.”

“You gave the best of yourself to everyone else, but you couldn’t spare a single warm glance for your own wife.”

“And I’ve told you before, don’t come looking for me unless it’s about the divorce. I don’t want anything more to do with you.”

“Now go. It’s late, and I’m going to bed.”

Sebastian’s hands clenched into tight fists. “Natalie, I was wrong about what happened before. How many times do I have to apologize for you to forgive me?”

“And have not told you that you don’t deserve to apologize? You never feel the pain when the knife

Natalie pointed emphatically at her stomach, but in the end, she restrained herself and said nothing more.

“Sebastian, every time you show up now, you just remind me of how pathetic I used to be.”

She turned and walked toward the house.

What could Sebastian possibly do to her here?

Watching her retreating back, filled with anger, Sebastian silently turned and left.

Natalie had just stepped into the living room when she received a call from an unknown number.
