Chapter 943
Chapter 943
“Without extraordinary means, how could I have secured the position as heir to the Griffith family? It was all about playing the situation to my advantage. As long as I played along with you, I could smoothly inherit everything p>
“The Griffith family fortune was built on the assets and company Timothy stole from my uncle. That’s how he became the top family, the leading tycoon in Yaro p>
“Why should he get what belonged to my mother and uncle? Hmm p>
The last word hung in the air, a seductive, mocking drawl.
“Having to put on a doting act every day for someone I despise… I found it disgusting, too p>
He regretted it now. Thinking about it from Natalie’s perspective, he felt a deep ache in his heart.
Joanna was speechless.
She asked in a pained, confused voice, “If you like Natalie, why did you hurt her over and over again p>
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of pain in their depths. “Because of you! Only by making you think everything was under your control, that I was on your side, could the business secrets you stole become my chance to turn the tables p>
“I let you come and go from my company as you pleased because I wanted you to get those secrets and pass them to Sebastian Griffith p>
“After I took over the Griffith family, Sebastian left Yaro and started another company abroad, transferring assets. The trade secrets you got from me helped him gain a foothold there. But what neither of you knew was that it was all my doing p>
“I can make his company go bankrupt in an instant p>
Sebastian took a step back, a wild, unrestrained smile on his face. “Timothy is not a good businessman. A man who loses his temper at the drop of a hat could never be a good leader p>
At that moment, Joanna’s entire body trembled. She couldn’t believe it. His kindness toward her was all an act?
“No, Sebastian, I don’t believe you. I don’t believe the way you treated me was fake. The five million dollars a month for living expenses p>
“You’re overthinking it. I only gave you that allowance for three years. In exchange, I stripped a billion dollars from the ruins of Wendy’s Company
“Spending a little money on you to earn a billion dollars… I’d say I came out on top p>
His red lips curved into a faint, triumphant smile.
“Impossible. It can’t be. Back then, you were living in despair. How could you have planned all this step by step p>
Joanna couldn’t finish her sentence. Because, clearly, Sebastian had succeeded years ago.
No wonder Wendy’s company had become a hollow shell.
Had Sebastian been secretly pulling the strings all along?
No, he had only taken a bit over a billion.
What about the rest?
Where did the rest of the money go?
That wasn’t right. The most terrifying part was that Sebastian had known about their plan from the very beginning.
Joanna asked, bewildered,
“Sebastian, then why did you give Natalie divorce papers? More than a dozen of them? You clearly didn’t love her you abandoned her for me time and again p>
Sebastian’s hands clenched into fists, his smile intriguing. “Because I wanted her to leave. She was with me for two years, and I didn’t want her to die at Timothy’s hands. The divorce was just a way to forge her out. Ignoring her was just to make you lower your guard. See p>
Joanna screamed in anguish, “So what about now? After revealing everything,
aren’t you afraid I’ll go after her p>
