“It breaks my heart that she and Susan ruined Jared’s wedding. Natalie just hates seeing the Scott family happy, so she does everything she can to hurt them.”

“Alright, Joanna, wait for my good news. I’ll definitely find Jared. I know you’re worried, since he was always the best to you. If he’s dead, you’ll have one less person to dote on you.”

Colin hung up.

On set, Joanna suddenly felt that something about Colin’s tone was off. Why did he sound so sarcastic?

She looked around, saw no one, and called Nora.

“Miss.”

Joanna’s smile was triumphant. “Nora, get the money ready. It’s time to acquire Wendy’s company. Within ten days, transfer two hundred million to Wendy’s side first, then buy out her company at a low price. We’ll bring back the clients she lost, and the company will be making a huge profit within a year.”

That was right. The clients who had pulled their contracts from Wendy had all been poached by another company she controlled. Now, all she had to do was use that same company to acquire Wendy’s, and all those contracts would be hers.

Everything Wendy had worked so hard for would become hers, acquired for a minimal price.

She had already contacted Monica. Jared was dead. Now, she just needed a way to frame Natalie, and she would be finished too.

Her recent dealings with Mr. Wilson had secured her several more investments.

Sebastian wasn’t helping her, but she wasn’t going to rely on that fool anyway.

Still, Sebastian had to be on her side.

Nora said, “Miss, everything is ready on my end.”

“Good. You go and negotiate with her. For her multi-billion-dollar company, we’ll offer one billion. This time, she’ll sell without a fight. She’s already sold the main building, but it’s not enough to cover the company’s losses. What she doesn’t know is that all that money went straight into my pocket. Thanks to that idiot Wendy, we were able to make so much in such a short time.”

Nora was thrilled. “Miss, buying her company for one billion is a complete humiliation. But there’s nothing she can do. And in the end, that one billion will sulf end up in your hands.”

Nora’s ambition, nurtured by Joanna, had grown. With every success Joanna had, Nora’s own boldness increased.

“Alright. I’m filming on the island, but I’ll be back in a few days. You handle the negotiations for now.”

Nora replied, “Of course, Miss. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything at the company.”

Joanna added, “And that idiot Colin is back. Give him a hundred thousand to get rid of the beggar for now.”

“Miss, we need to speed things up. Wendy will figure out our plan soon. If your brothers find out, things could get very complicated.”

Joanna agreed, thinking that Colin’s tone had been strange. They must have realized something was wrong.

Even a complete fool would sense a problem. She had been relentlessly slandering Natalie, and now neither Wendy nor Sebastian trusted her. But Wendy’s personality was hard to predict.

And lately, her father had been acting like a madman.

Nora asked, “Miss, what method should we use to eliminate him this time?”
