Chapter 300

She had just sat down when she received a message from the maid she had placed in the Scott household.
[Ms. Sanders, last night, Jared brought his girlfriend home and Mrs. Scott kicked him out. Mr. Scott collapsed and was taken to the hospital.]
Natalie was surprised. Wendy should have been having a health crisis around this time. Why was it Nathan in the hospital? Had Wendy actually listened to her advice and started to fight back? Natalie remembered Wendy slapping the woman at Mr. Wilson’s party-the woman who was Joanna’s biological mother.
A small smile touched Natalie’s lips. It seemed Wendy knew the truth. A weight lifted from her shoulders. She messaged Luna, and then got back to her meetings.
…
Back in his office, Sebastian’s mind was in turmoil. It was Natalie who had saved him from the fire. He had clearly seen Joanna, and when he woke up, it was Joanna by his bedside. He had always believed it was her.
He called Sean into his office. “Sir, what can I do for you?” Sean asked with a smile.
“I want you to find out which hospital Natalie was treated at for burns after the fire.”
“I already know, sir,” Sean replied. “It was a subsidiary of Blue Hospital.”
Sebastian was surprised. “How do you know that?”
“Once, Ms. Sanders asked me to pick up some medication for her hypertrophic scars from that hospital asked the doctor what it was for, and he told me that MS. Sanders had been brought in with severe burns a year prior and that the scars still itched. You were having trouble with your leg at the time, and she was so busy taking care of you that she couldn’t get the medicine herself, so she asked me to go for her.”
About a year after the fire, Sebastian had been in the serious car accident. That was right after Natalie had been brought back to the Scott family. When Joanna
left, Natalie had married him, only to be forced into a divorce two years later. Fate was a cruel thing.

“Find out who was with Joanna that day. Why were they at that remote villa?” And why was Natalie there too? At that time, she hadn’t even returned to the Scott family yet.
“Yes, sir. I’ll head out to the suburbs and look into it,” Sean said. It had been years, so it wouldn’t be easy. He’d have to contact the police who handled the case back then. The fire was still an unsolved arson case.
Sebastian couldn’t focus on work for the rest of the day. The old man had dropped a bombshell on him and left.

meeting with Matthew, who came to pick her up personally. The contract for their collaboration had been
finalized. Now, all she needed were ten more female models for her show. She also designed menswear, and the male models were already booked.
Natalie and Luna went downstairs and saw Matthew waiting by the entrance. He stood out in the evening sun, his aura cool and noble, his tailored suit unable to conceal his disciplined physique.
Natalie smiled as she walked up to him, drawn in by his quiet confidence. “Mr. Monroe, thank you for coming to get me.”
A deeper smile touched Matthew’s lips as he looked at her stunning face. “Natalie, we know each other well enough by now. You don’t have to be so formal.”
