Chapter 726

Chapter 726

Robert grew angrier the more he thought about it. How had Joanna’s pregnancy become public knowledge?

“Joanna, didn’t I tell you to be patient? I said I’d tell you as soon as I figured out a solution. Why did you have to go and make it a public spectacle p>

His words only fueled her rage. She hadn’t done it.

“How should I know? Besides you, no one else knew about this. Who could it be but you p>

More than Robert, Joanna was the one who wanted to keep her pregnancy a secret.

If Sebastian found out, things would become much more complicated.

But she had forgotten that she had just told Natalie everything.

Natalie wasn’t going to just take it lying down like before.

“Joanna, do you really think I’m that stupid p>

Joanna knew Robert wouldn’t ruin his own career.

But besides him, who else knew she was pregnant?

Her mother knew, but she was certain her mother would never betray her.

Joanna was bewildered, her expression twisted. “Then who was it? Who leaked our story? What do we do now p>

Suddenly, an idea struck her. “Robert, it was Natalie! She knows I’m pregnant p>

Robert’s voice turned icy. “You told her p>

“I was trying to set her up. Robert, you said before that you’d help me deal with Natalie. Now is the perfect time p>

Joanna knew the best way forward was not to rely on anyone or anything, but to become independent and stronger herself.

But she wasn’t strong enough yet.

“Joanna, you’re insane. You have a feud with her, and you just handed her the knife yourself. Are you crazy p>

Joanna was agitated. She didn’t know for sure if it was Natalie.

But Natalie had to die, and she had to be the one to do it.

Robert was just another tool for her to use.

“Robert, Natalie set us up. What should we do? Robert, I never wanted to ruin your reputation,” Joanna said, her voice turning soft and concerned.

She knew Robert’s type. He had a weakness for gentle, vulnerable women, which was how she had attracted him in the first place.

Robert was silent for a moment

before speaking. “Trying to make a move on Natalie now is unrealistic Joanna, has the pregnancy made you stupid? Your mother’s schemes were all over the news and she even framed Natalie för Mrs. Wilson’s murder. I can’t believe how foolish you two are p>

“If you’re looking for suspects in Mrs. Wilson’s case, your mother and Mr. Wilson are the most likely candidates p>

“There’s only one way out of this now. You have to clarify to the media that you are not pregnant p>

Joanna smirked. At this moment, she knew. Robert wasn’t going to take responsibility.

Her eyes were cold, filled with a biting chill. How had she come to this?

She asked in a heavy tone, “Robert, I know you don’t want to take responsibility p>

“Joanna, we’re still young, and we’re not in love. It was a moment of impulse, just for fun p>

“Hold a press conference. Say you’re

not pregnant, that you and Natalie have a feud; and she deliberately slandered you. Then have your agency release the promotional posters for your movie. Based on my experience, this will actually boost your profile p>

“Joanna, you can use this to get more fans. Natalie will be your stepping stone. Then, tonight, there’s a charity gala, a fundraiser for heart disease. Go make a

Joanna narrowed her eyes. Of course, Robert had been in the industry for years; he

knew how to play this game.
