Chapter 551
Chapter 551
Horace replied, “Miss, I just arrived to surveil him. I saw his car returning; Sean ordered takeout for him. It looks like he’ll be staying at the office tonight. He hasn’t been back to the villa lately, he’s been living at work p>
“He didn’t get the west-side land, so it seems he’s looking for another suitable plot. I heard a rumor that he might be planning to build a hospital p>
“Build a hospital? Doesn’t he already own one? Why would he build another?” Joanna couldn’t understand Sebastian’s motives.
Hospitals were very profitable, she knew that, but why would Sebastian need another one?
Sebastian’s thoughts were always hard to decipher.
“Miss, I’ll investigate these matters. Everything for tomorrow is arranged. Marshall is finished. That punk has been arrogant for far too long. Let’s see if he can still smile tomorrow p>
Horace was more focused on the coming day’s events. He despised rich brats like Marshall who, backed by family money, looked down on everyone. He planned to be glued to the screen tomorrow, watching Marshall’s downfall.
Joanna smiled elegantly, her eyes fixed on the window with excitement.
“If Natalie hadn’t ruined my plans back then, we wouldn’t have ended up in this position p>
“It’s all because of Natalie that our plans were delayed until now. Once the raw materials fail inspection, their entire project is ruined. His previous non-compliant projects will have to be demolished and rebuilt, doubling the construction costs. He’ll also face legal liabilities. Even if they split the responsibility 50/50, the Spencer family will bear the brunt of it p>
When one door closes, another opens.
If Marshall couldn’t be of use to her, then he had to be destroyed. She could still make money by collaborating with Yves.
Joanna chatted with Horace for a little longer before hanging up.
She went to check on her father. Wendy wouldn’t be coming tonight; her company’s problems had her completely tied down. Tomorrow morning, she’d return the money
to Wendy, and the acquisition could proceed quickly.
She knocked and entered. Nathan was already awake.
Joanna walked in and said, “Dad, you’re awake p>
Nathan closed his eyes, feeling miserable. He was dizzy and weak, having spent all his energy lately scheming against Wendy.
“Yes. Did the doctor come? What did he say p>
Joanna was furious. She walked over and looked down at her father. “Dad, the doctor said you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar. You can’t eat high-fat, high-salt, or high-sugar foods, and you can drink. Did you drink when you went to see my mother p>
“Did she cook a huge, fatty meal for you just to please you p>
Nathan frowned slightly, then
smiled. “Joanna, I’ve let your mother down all these years. Every time I go back, she goes to grea
lengths to
make me happy. It’s her kind
intention. If I didn’t eat, it would be
waste of her efforts p>
“But after eating it, you end up lying here. People with your conditions can’t drink.
Your blood sugar spiked, and your blood pressure shot up with it p>
She was confused. “How did this happen? You were fine last year. Why are you suddenly dealing with all these health issues p>
Her father had to give her mother a happy life; he couldn’t afford to have something happen to him now.
“Sigh.” Nathan didn’t know what was wrong with him either.
This year felt unlucky, with his body constantly failing him.
“By the way, Joanna, your mother… she wronged me,” he said, his eyes cold.
Joanna froze. She had only just found out about it herself.
Her mother was quite capable, managing to attract the attention of Mr. Wilson’s nephew When shë called her mother later, she learned they had been seeing each other for a long time.
