“Joanna, I went to the police station to see her this morning, and she refused to say a word. It’s infuriating! How could I have nurtured such an ungrateful wretch? Even a dog would wag its tail at us. I raised a scorpion.”

“Joanna, I’m giving her ten days. If she doesn’t return the money within ten days, I will ask the court to enforce the judgment.”

“I heard Sarah’s husband is a lazy good-for-nothing. If he finds out his wife has two hundred million, Sarah’s fate will likely be even worse.”

Joanna frowned. She had never underestimated Wendy; the woman had a sharp mind for business.

“Mom, we still have ten days, right? Don’t worry, let’s just wait and see.”

“Joanna, take care of yourself. There are so many bad people out there, you can never be too careful. You must be cautious when you’re out there.”

Her voice grew colder. “I understand, Mom. I have something to take care of here, so I’ll hang up now.”

Wendy smiled. “Alright, Joanna. Stay safe.”

After hanging up, a crazed smile spread across her face.

Colin was stunned. He rushed over, snatched the phone from his mother’s hand, and said to Lindsay, “Lindsay, don’t post anything yet. I need to talk to my mom.”
