Chapter 588

Chapter 588

Natalie’s pupils quivered. “What do you mean by that? You stole the child. Where are you p>

“I’m on a boat out at sea. As long as you transfer the money to the designated account, I’ll return the child immediately. If I don’t receive the money by dawn, your son is finished p>

Natalie’s gaze turned icy as she looked out the window. So, it was about money after all.

Yvonne had been spoiled rotten by Jerome, becoming utterly arrogant. Now, without his protection and with no money of her own, she was desperate enough to do something like this.

“Are you dreaming? The banks aren’t even open at this hour. How am I supposed to transfer ten million dollars to you p>

“Fine! Tomorrow morning, then. If I don’t get the money tomorrow morning, I’ll toss your child into the sea p>

Natalie shot up from her seat and walked to the window, peering outside.

She couldn’t see anything. A blizzard was raging, the wind howling ferociously in the extreme weather.

“Are you sure the baby is okay?” Natalie asked, feigning anxiety.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of him until I get the money. Now stop wasting my time and go get the cash p>

The caller hung up.

A murderous look filled Natalie’s eyes.

Then, an idea struck her.

There should be security cameras near room 408.

Natalie quickly opened the specialized software on her phone and found the hospital’s network port. The connection was slow, taking three minutes to access the system.

Soon, she found the footage of Yvonne lurking by the door of the hospital room.

She noticed a red X over the file; the original video had been tampered with. It was clear they had planned this.

Natalie thought for a moment, then recorded the clip and sent it to the local police department.

Her phone was custom-built with powerful features, perfect for critical moments like this.

After sending the video, Natalie quickly erased her tracks.

If they found Yvonne, they’d find the child.

She clicked her tongue. Yvonne was about to take a serious fall.

Of all the children to steal, she had to pick the Police Chief’s son.

Well, that was that. She was going to rot in prison.

Still, Natalie knew she had to go to the police and explain the situation.

She was puzzled. Joanna really had nerves of steel, still not abandoning Yvonne after all this time.

Could it be that Yvonne still had some use to her?

Natalie didn’t dwell on it. She looked at the baby, his rosy cheeks and tiny hands held up as he slept. His sleep was light, and his mouth puckered, a clear sign he was hungry.

She smiled, getting up to wash a bottle and prepare some formula. The interrogation

was still ongoing, so she would head down when the time was right.

Meanwhile p>

The police department received a video clip.

After identifying the suspect as Yvonne, they took the video to the hospital to see the Chief.

To avoid tipping anyone off, the Chief had the nurses come in one by one to identify Yvonne.

Yvonne had been on the island for several days.

She often brought lunch to Dr. Smith, so a nurse who knew Dr. Smith recognized her at once.

Bess was terrified by the intimidating Chief. She said, “Sir,

she’s Dr. Smith’s niece. She’s been coming by the last few days to bring: Dr. Smith lunch. And as it happens, Dr. Smith was one of the doctors on duty tonight p>

Bess felt a sense of dread. “Sir, you’ve investigated cases like this before last year two children were kidnapped from this hospital for ransom. After the kidnappers got the money, they returned the children p>
