Chapter 897

Chapter 897

“Sebastian, no!” she pleaded, her voice trembling. “I saved your life once. Please, spare me this time. I swear I didn’t take Sean p>

Sebastian remained silent, merely looking at his bodyguards. “What are you waiting for? Throw her in p>

Joanna’s cries and struggles died in her throat. She could only stare in numb shock.

A moment later, she was tossed into the sea.

The bone-chilling water shocked her system, the freezing current instantly stealing the breath from her lungs as panic took over.

She sputtered, spitting out a mouthful of salty seawater.

The freezing water robbed her of the strength to even struggle.

Looking up at Sebastian’s merciless eyes, she finally broke. “Sebastian!” she screamed, her voice choked with tears. “I’ll… I’ll have them release Sean! Just get me out of here p>

“Are you sure you’ll talk as soon as you’re out?” Sebastian asked coldly. “No more nonsense p>

She couldn’t believe his heartlessness. “Yes! I swear, no more nonsense. Just save me, and I’ll call them right now and have them let Sean go p>

Sebastian must have had evidence to act this way.

She couldn’t read him. It had once seemed like she had him completely wrapped around her finger, but aside from giving her money, she hadn’t gotten anything else.

The man’s cunning was terrifying.

She had always been so careful, so meticulous, determined not to give herself away.

“Pull her out,” Sebastian ordered his bodyguards.

Instead of jumping in, the two men retrieved a retractable steel pole from the car and extended it over the water.

“Grab on,” one of them commanded.

Joanna frantically reached for the pole. In her fear and panic, she slammed her hand against it, almost losing her grip. But her will to survive made her ignore the pain.

The current was strong, but she clung to the pole with all her might.

The two bodyguards worked together, pulling her back onto the shore.

Joanna had never been treated like this in her entire life.

She was an utter mess.

“Talk,” Sebastian’s icy voice commanded from above her.

Her body shook violently. She had never seen this side of him before; he was terrifying.

“I… I need to call… Horace. He has their number p>

Sebastian handed her his phone

She took the phone, her hands trembling as she dialed Horace’s number.

“Hello, Mr. Griffith p>

“Horace, it’s me! Tell them to release Sean, now!” Joanna cried.

“Miss, what’s wrong? Did Sebastian do something to you?” Horace sounded frantic. “Miss, where are you? I can’t find you p>

“I’m fine, Horace! Just tell them to let Sean go! Hurry p>

Horace immediately understood that Sebastian had discovered their plan. He grew tense and fearful.

Sebastian was an unpredictable man, and his methods were notoriously cruel.

“Miss, I’ll call them right now and ask p>

Joanna prayed that Sean hadn’t been thrown into the ocean yet.
