Natalie sneered. “You’re quick with the excuses. I’ll talk to Grandma and let her know I’m fine.”
Sebastian ignored her and walked right in.
The butler, Lucien, was waiting by the door for Natalie.
When he saw her ex-husband, his face darkened. “Miss, why is Mr. Mistake here?”
Hearing Lucien call him “Mr. Mistake,” Natalie almost burst out laughing. Knowing Sebastian’s stubborn and domineering personality, he probably wasn’t leaving tonight.
Sebastian’s expression was grim. “I am not Mr. Mistake.”
Lucien paid him no mind.
Soon, just one more year, and the divorce would be final.
Natalie smiled at Lucien. “Lucien, it’s late. You should go get some rest. I’m fine.
Have the house doctor come over in the morning to give me an IV drip.”
Natalie knew Lucien was worried about her, which was why he had been waiting by the door.
Lucien and Rena were completely loyal to this family.
She considered them family as well and didn’t want to overwork them.
Lucien glanced at Sebastian, still worried. “Miss, him…”
“It’s fine, he’ll be leaving soon. Go on, get some rest.”
Lucien shot a warning look at Sebastian before leaving.
Sebastian frowned. Was he really that disliked?
Natalie opened the door and went inside, with Sebastian following her.
It was Sebastian’s first time in Natalie’s home. The villa was decorated in a warm, inviting style.
A grand spiral staircase was the centerpiece of the villa.
A magnificent crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, cascading down and casting
a brilliant, enchanting light.
The villa’s design was a perfect
blend of understated elegance and luxury. There were no overly bold cofors or decorations, yet every detail exuded unparalleled quality and taste.
Sebastian watched Natalie’s slender figure, a pang of guilt in his eyes. The villa they had lived in before was truly an injustice to her.
Sebastian walked over, sat down next to Natalie, took out his phone, and made a video call to his grandmother.
The call connected quickly, and she appeared on the screen with a loving smile. “Sebastian. Are you taking good care of Natalie?”
Sebastian turned the camera to Natalie. “See, Grandma? I wasn’t lying.”
Natalie smiled and greeted her. “Grandma, I’m fine. I’ll be better after a couple of days of rest.”
The old lady was still concerned, her eyes full of sympathy. “Natalie, what were you doing on the highway? My heart ached when heard

hurt. specifically told Sebastian to go take care of you. He’s actually
quite caring. I won’t be at ease
unless he’s there with you.”
The old lady’s concern warmed Natalie’s heart. “Grandma, I have Rena here to look
after me. He really doesn’t need to stay.”
“Natalie, you two are husband and wife. A married couple shouldn’t be apart for too long. Just let Sebastian take care of you tonight. You took care of him tirelessly for two years,
it’s his
and now that you’re injured turn to look after you.”
“That’s settled then. Grandma is tired, I’m going to bed. I’ll call you again tomorrow morning.”
The old lady smiled, said her goodbyes, and hung up.
Natalie was speechless.
The old lady was clearly trying to play matchmaker, but Natalie truly wanted to avoid Sebastian.
Was her earlier agreement to the divorce just a strategic retreat?
Natalie knew the old lady could be shrewd.
But there weren’t many people in the world who were kind to her, which was why she cherished that little bit of warmth.
Sebastian looked at the exhausted Natalie, his eyes glinting. “It’s an order from Grandma. I have to obey.”
Natalie was exasperated. “Grandma is Grandma. You just need to report back to her. She saw us together, so she’s relieved. You can go now.”
