Chapter 835

Natalie glanced at him. She rarely saw Sebastian in such a relaxed state.

This version of Sebastian, compared to the one she saw in photos, felt somehow p>

“What are you thinking about? Hurry up and eat p>

Sebastian’s sudden words interrupted her thoughts.

Natalie pointed to the lobster in her hand. “I am eating p>

Natalie loved seafood, while Sebastian preferred lighter fare. For the past two years, her diet had been quite light as well.

Eating barbecue with her friends these past few days, with her youthful vigor, she suddenly felt like life had promise again.

After eating one lobster, Natalie was already half-full.

The lobster was so fresh, leaving a delightful aftertaste. Her features softened, and

a smile danced in her eyes.

Seeing how much she liked it, a slight curve appeared on Sebastian’s lips.

She was easy to please; he had always known that.

Neither of them spoke, both focused on their food.

After dinner, Natalie felt the emptiness in her chest fill with contentment and happiness.

She stood up and said, “Thank you for dinner. I’m full p>

She was a polite person; a ‘thank you’ was necessary.

Sebastian was becoming addicted to the day’s events. A faint sense of pleasure lingered in his heart, followed by a hint of sweetness.

“Good that you’re full.” Sebastian stood up. Suddenly, the phone on the table rang.

He picked it up and saw it was Sean.

“Hello p>

“Sir, it’s bad news. Our report against them didn’t go through. Joanna’s company managed to survive the crisis. The evidence we provided didn’t match their company’s data, and the system shows no tax evasion. They’ve turned the tables on us and are demanding an investigation into who tried to frame them p>

Sebastian’s brow furrowed slightly. It seemed the person backing Joanna was no simple character.

He had known Joanna for a long time and knew she had a few tricks up her sleeve, but it appeared he had underestimated her.

Joanna was hiding much deeper than he had imagined.

“Investigate who is helping Joanna p>

Sebastian hung up after saying this. He meant for Natalie to hear that last sentence, as she knew more than he did.

Sure enough, when she heard him say he was investigating Joanna, Natalie looked at him.

Sebastian said, “I had Sean report Joanna’s company. The evidence was solid, but her company managed to resolve it. It seems they have a major player hiding in their ranks p>

Natalie was surprised again. Sebastian was acting very strangely today.

She became even more wary, her eyes filled with caution as she looked at him.

Most importantly, this kind of life was making her sick with stress.

Seeing the wariness in her eyes, Sebastian frowned. “Why are you so defensive with me? I haven’t done anything to you. I told you, I’ll help you deal with Joanna p>

Natalie quickly cut him off. “Don’t, Mr. Griffith. Fewer promises, more

action know you say one thing

and

do another I’ve suffered enough at

your hands. can’t trust you

Sebastian was speechless.

“Natalie,” he said, his anger rising. Why couldn’t she just trust him this one time?

Natalie didn’t say a word. She used the house phone to call for someone to clean the room.

After the cleaning staff left,

Natalie went into her room to call Luna.

Seeing her go into the room, Sebastian followed. But just as he was about to push the door open, he heard Natalie on the phone.

“Luna, I need you to investigate the company that Nora manages under Joanna’s name. See if there’s any tax evasion p>

“Also, Joanna is very good with computers, but her skills aren’t enough to manipulate a system to hide tax evasion. Check if she’s recently hired any skilled hackers, maybe students to work for her company. You need to be fast p>
