Chapter 547

Chapter 547

When Natalie thought of Sebastian, her heart would still give a strange little pang.

For three whole years, her world had revolved around him. Now, after nearly half a year away from him, she felt free.

Sometimes she thought of him, sometimes her heart ached, but she understood that life wasn’t just about love. Family was far more precious.

She wouldn’t let anything happen to her beloved grandfather or her brothers.

Natalie took a deep breath, pushing aside the unpleasant memories.

She got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and when she came out, she chose a beautiful lounge set from her closet. Walking to the window, she saw it was snowing and smiled faintly. It was the first snow of the year.

It was beautiful. In a few days, she could build a snowman in her backyard again.

As Natalie turned to leave, she suddenly remembered last year’s snow. It was the day Joanna had returned. Joanna had been free to come and go from their villa, and she and Sebastian were always so intimate.

Every day, Natalie had been consumed by melancholy, but Sebastian never saw it. His thoughts were entirely on Joanna. Her heart clenched with an unstoppable pain.

She placed a hand over her heart and smiled bitterly. It still hurt so much, even though she thought she had forgotten.

“Bzz… Bzz Her phone on the table vibrated. She walked over and picked it up. An unknown number. She had a feeling it was Sebastian.

She answered. “Hello p>

“Natalie, I’m outside your villa. It’s snowing p>

Sebastian’s voice came through, deep and pleasant.

Natalie looked at the snow outside, a smile in her eyes. “What are you doing here? Haven’t I made myself clear enough p>

The pain of thinking about him was still fresh, and now his call just made her feel worse.

People were like that sometimes. Even when you’ve moved on, the thought of that person could still stir up frustration.

She sat on the window seat. Outside, it was gloomy, with light snow falling.

The glass reflected her blurred but still exquisite and pleasing silhouette.

Natalie placed her slender fingers on the cold glass. Through it, she could clearly

see the tiny snowflakes. But the snow put her in a terrible mood.

“It’s snowing. I remember you were always so afraid of the cold whenever it snowed,” Sebastian’s voice was tinged with worry.

But Natalie, who no longer loved him, didn’t hear it.

When you stop caring about certain things, certain people, you stop listening so closely.

Natalie sneered. “I’m not afraid of the cold anymore, Sebastian. Back then, I only complained about the cold to get your attention. But your mind was always on Joanna. You were worried about whether she was tired, suffering or cold overseas p>

“You were suffering yourself, your legs still unable to support you, yet you put all your effort into caring for her. I had actually decided to give up on you then. I was going to let you two be together when she returned p>

“But I never expected that after she came back, it would be one scheme after another. And you… you just

nother.

wanted to worship her, never

so angry that tefused to sign the divorce papers you gave me those times p>

She laughed at herself, tears welling in her eyes. “Looking back, I was so childish. Sebastian, I really don’t want you anymore. Can you please stop disturbing my life p>

She spoke calmly.

She really didn’t want him. It took her two lifetimes to understand that love is optional, but your life must be your own.

Outside the villa. In the car.

When Sebastian heard Natalie say, “Sebastian, I really don’t want you anymore,” his hand gripping the phone tightened fiercely.

His voice suddenly hoarse, he growled, “Natalie, you were the one who came after me first. You think you can just decide you don’t want me anymore p>
