Chapter 638
Chapter 638
Sophia’s heart dropped when she saw the video. How did Wendy get her hands on that?
No, Nathan could absolutely not see it. If he found out she’d been cheating on him, her life would be over.
When Nathan digs his heels in, it’s scary.
Besides, they had just gotten married ten days ago. She was finally, officially Mrs. Scott—a title she had spent half her life chasing.
“Wendy, what are you doing? You’re just trying to frame me p>
She lunged for the phone, but Wendy, anticipating the move, simply shifted it out of her reach.
Sophia’s hand met empty air.
It was too late. Nathan had already seen the clip of Mr. Wilson and Sophia in bed together.
He saw another video of them in a private dining room, feeding each other intimately.
And another, showing them entering and leaving hotels and private clubs.
The images burned into his eyes.
So, Sophia had betrayed him long ago.
How dare she? He had sacrificed everything, walking on eggshells for years, just to support her and her son.
Sophia was frantic, shaking her head. “Nathan, don’t look! Close your eyes! Those videos are fake, doctored by Wendy to set me up. I’ve never done anything to betray you p>
Wendy just laughed. “So, you two have been together for a while, then p>
Sophia froze, not daring to speak.
She had come to take Nathan out for lunch. It was snowing heavily, and she didn’t feel like cooking.
When she found him, he was distracted. He told her Wendy was coming to see Natalie.
Sophia figured that since they were divorced, and after all the years she had spent hiding in the shadows, it was her turn to shine.
She was going to flaunt her victory and finally get her revenge.
But before she could say a word, Wendy’s video had blindsided her completely.
Looking at Wendy’s triumphant smirk, hatred twisted inside Sophia like a dull knife, the pain making her tremble.
Even in her simple puffer jacket, Wendy couldn’t hide her innate elegance and grace.
Sophia’s jealousy morphed into a defiant sneer. “That’s right, we’ve been together for a long time. You’re a foot, Wendy, a complete and utter fool. We’re going to live happily ever after, while you’re left with nothing, rotting away in that rundown apartment. I won, Wendy
She laughed, but there was no confidence in it. Her victory felt hollow.
She hadn’t truly taken everything from Wendy, and the satisfaction wasn’t there.
She hadn’t gotten the building she coveted, either.
Wendy put her phone away and turned to Nathan, her voice dripping with scorn. “Nathan, after I married you I gave you five children. I did
because loved you
But how did
you repay me p>
“You kept a mistress behind my back p>
“Ha! Nathan, have you no
conscience? Your entire family got rich off me. They moved into comfortable lives because of me. Which one of your relatives built a new house without me footing the bill p>
“I gave you my heart, and you left me with nothing, casting me and four of our children aside without a second thought. Nathan, I was so wrong about you p>
Wendy’s heart was numb, but dredging up the past still sent a dull ache through her chest.
Nathan knew he was in the wrong, but then he thought about it. After more than twenty years of a lavish lifestyle, he had walked away from the divorce with nothing.
