“Or you could talk about what happened last night. How my own brother tried to hand me over to a group of men to be violated.”

“Colin, someone recorded a video last night. It will probably be released soon. When that happens, I imagine the stock for the Scott family’s holdings and the Don family’s company will plummet.”

“Because not even an animal would do something as vile as what you did. Now stop following me. The sight of you makes me sick.”

“Natalie, you… you will never be welcome in the Scott family again!” Colin pointed a trembling, furious finger at her, his chest tight with rage.

Natalie sneered. “I wouldn’t want to be. When I still had feelings for you all, I let you bully me. Now that I’ve given up on you, no one gets to bully me again.”

“Sharing the same blood as a malicious person like you feels dirty.”

Those words were enough to bring tears of rage to Colin’s eyes. He looked up and saw his mother standing a short distance away.

“Natalie.”

Wendy called out quickly, stopping Natalie in her tracks.

Furious, Natalie turned to face her, her eyes blazing. “Are you people ever going to give up? I will not help pay your company’s debts. Do you remember what I told you before?”

“I have completely and utterly cut ties with the Scott family. I have never bothered you, and whether you live or die is no longer my concern.”

With tears in her eyes, Wendy said, “Natalie, that’s not what I mean. I’ll find a way to pay my own debts. I heard you were buying land today, but that plot has no development value. I was just worried you were making a mistake.”

She looked at her daughter, her eyes filled with guilt.

“Mrs. Scott, watch your words. I don’t have a mother. And what I choose to do is none of your business.”

Don’t they have anything better to do?

This was ruining her morning.

Wendy’s heart felt like it was being torn apart. “Natalie, I’m just trying to look out for you…”

“Mom, she doesn’t even

acknowledge you. Why are you begging her? If she makes a bad investment that’s her own problem. What does it have to do with us? Don’t let her come crying to us for money later.”

He shot Natalie a venomous look. “I really should have shown her no mercy last night. I should have just given her to those men could have gotten a huge payout and bought myself a new race car. Wouldn’t that have been great?”

Wendy was utterly horrified by his words. Tears streamed down her face.

Wendy struck him across the face, her heart breaking. “You monster” she screamed, crying. “That’s your own sister! And you wanted to give her to other then to be violated? How did raise such a monster?”

“Mom, she’s just an ignorant girl from the countryside. Letting her enjoy a life of luxury in our home was a gift. Besides, she was always trying to frame Joanna…..”

“Colin, from this day forward, you and your brothers are no longer my sons. I don’t have sons as cruel as you.”

“Whatever happens to you in the future, whether you live or die, has nothing to do with me.”

With that, Wendy turned and walked away.

“Mom! Mom, how can you disown me? Weren’t we supposed to be on the same side against Natalie? I was standing up for our family! How did I become the bad guy?”

Colin was so angry he wanted to kill someone. He turned to find Natalie to settle the score, but she had already gone inside.

He was about to follow when his phone rang. It was Joanna.

He instantly broke into a smile. “Joanna.”

Joanna’s voice was soft and gentle. “Colin, do you know Mr. Woodard? I was hoping you could do me a favor.”
