Natalie couldn’t sleep, so she channeled her frustration into action.

She’d barely touched her dinner.

She slipped on her slippers and padded downstairs.

Marching straight to the kitchen, she pulled open the refrigerator, took out all the octopus, and began preparing it in the sink. It didn’t take her long to clean it.

She found an onion, a green pepper, some celery, and a jar of chili sauce.

Then she lit the stove, blanched the squid, and began to stir-fry it with gusto. She also steamed a couple of crabs.

Thirty minutes later, three plates of late-night snacks sat on the dining table.

She grabbed a can of beer from the fridge.

Then she took a few photos and posted them online.

Her caption read: “Got so pissed off by an idiot I worked up an appetite. The old saying is true: never argue with a fool!”

After posting, Natalie started scrolling through videos while enjoying her midnight feast. A sip of cold beer, a bite of spicy squid—it was utterly satisfying.

“Ah… that’s better. It’s a shame Queena isn’t here. If she were, she’d be right here with me, cursing out that scumbag Sebastian.”

Meanwhile, Sebastian was at the family estate. When he returned, the housekeeper pleaded with him, and he allowed her to stay.

The housekeeper had served Mrs. Griffith Sr. for many years. He warned her to respect Natalie in the future, stating that if it happened again, she would be out for good.

The housekeeper meekly promised it wouldn’t happen again.

Only then did Sebastian head upstairs to shower.

Just as he lay down in bed, he heard a special notification tone.

He picked up his phone and saw Natalie’s post. When he read the caption, he let

out a bitter laugh. So, in her eyes, he was the fool.

Damn it, Natalie. He was only trying to do what was best for her. Her design sketches were excellent, and with further education, she could have an incredible future.

But Natalie refused to go, which complicated things. He decided to tell his grandmother about it in the morning and let her try to persuade Natalie After all, it was dangerous for her to stay in the country.

Those people from the Scott family… not a single one of them was benevolent.

He felt a pang of guilt that she had spent two years of her prime taking care of him, delaying her own education. That’s why he wanted to send her abroad to study, but she didn’t appreciate the gesture.

After two beers, Natalie felt light and floaty, the fire in her heart finally subsiding.

Her eyes were half-closed as she staggered to the bathroom to brush her teeth before heading to bed.

She was a bit too full, and lying down was uncomfortable. She hugged the duvet, kicking one leg out from under the covers, which made her feel much better.

She slept dreamlessly through the night.

Natalie woke up at eight the next morning.

Remembering her grandmother had another acupuncture session today, she lazily got out of bed, washed up, changed into some comfortable clothes, and drove herself to the Griffith family estate.

It was already past nine when she arrived.

Natalie walked in carrying her medical kit to find the matriarch sitting on the sofa, looking around expectantly.

Seeing Natalie, she quickly stood up and smiled. “Natalie, didn’t you say last night you weren’t coming back? Why did you leave?”

The housekeeper standing nearby shot Natalie a nervous glance. If Mrs. Griffith Sr. found out, she would surely be dismissed.

That old hag doted on Natalie, and the housekeeper couldn’t let this woman ruin her son’s future.

Natalie gave the housekeeper a cool glance before turning to Mrs. Griffith Sr. “I’m here to get my things.”

“Alright, alright. Come have some breakfast first.” The old woman led her to the dining room.

Natalie saw Sebastian was also there. She walked past him to sit on the opposite side, next to his grandmother.

“Natalie, this is the lobster you sent a few days ago. It makes a delicious, creamy soup. I haven’t had much of an appetite lately, but this lobster soup is so fresh and sweet that I can manage some. And this special broth, drink up, it’s good.”
