When Joanna heard Natalie insisting on calling the police, she was truly terrified.
Where did Natalie get the confidence to defy Sebastian? Where did she get the nerve to stand against the Scott family?
Marshall sauntered over to stand next to Natalie, a wicked smile on his face. “Natalie, don’t you worry. I’ll call the police right now.”
He took out his phone.
Natalie was confused. Hadn’t he already called them?
Sebastian saw this and a glint appeared in his deep eyes. “Marshall, hold on. What do you want?”
Marshall knew Sebastian would step in for Joanna. Natalie, on the other hand, was already used to this. When you get used to something, your heart just goes numb.
“Tsk, Mr. Griffith, you’re really willing to do anything for your first love. Fine. I want fifty percent of the Griffith Corporation’s shares. Your company in exchange for her freedom. Sebastian, that’s not too much to ask, is it?”
Joanna and Nathan’s eyes bulged.

“Marshall, you’re going too far! If you take the entire Griffith Corporation, what will happen to Sebastian?” How could he make such an unreasonable demand?
Marshall scoffed, looking at Joanna with disgust. “What happens to him is none of my business. He’s doing this to save you, isn’t he? He loves you so much; you’re priceless in his eyes. Using his family’s entire fortune to save you is practically an insult to your value. He should be offering his life for you. That would be the purest form of love.”
Joanna was terrified of the roguish Marshall. He had been a little tyrant since childhood, and no one dared to cross him, not even her four brothers. Even Sebastian was wary of him. It was because he was such a loose cannon that she had targeted Mrs. Spencer Sr. in the first place. Her plan had been perfect; she had no idea how it had failed.
Natalie glanced at Marshall. He really is a little devil. And he’s got a sharp tongue.
Sebastian knew Marshall wasn’t actually planning to call the police; he was after something else.
“Mr. Spencer, you can’t swallow my entire company. Tell me what you really want,” Sebastian said, his voice deep and magnetic.
Marshall didn’t waste any time. He turned to Natalie. “Natalie, I heard you left the marriage with nothing.. Sebastian is quite the cheapskate. How about I get you twenty percent of his company shares?”
Natalie shot him a cold look. “No, thanks. It’s dirty. Just hurry up and finish this. I can’t breathe in here.”
Sebastian stared at her. She thought he was dirty? He unconsciously took a step back, putting distance between himself and Joanna.
Seeing her refusal, Marshall turned
back to Sebastian. “Since Mr. Griffith wants to save loanna fine. The western development land. Give it to the Spencer family.”
Sebastian agreed without a second’s hesitation.
Marshall quickly got the contract signed. He grinned at Joanna. “Ms. Scott, please, keep scheming. It’s an easy way for me to make a few hundred million.”
Joanna glared at him, silent tears streaming down her face.
