Chapter 298
Sebastian wasn’t a man to be swayed by a life debt. Love was not in the cards for them.
Natalie turned to look out the window, her reflection appearing next to Sebastian’s handsome face. She remembered him at twenty, in a crisp white shirt, full of youthful ambition. He was sharp, confident, and impossibly good-looking-the prince charming of countless girls’ dreams, including hers. One look, and she had fallen into his world.
Sebastian smirked. “I told you, Natalie. I won’t divorce you. And I won’t let you go to another man.”
She stared at him, confused. His eyes were narrowed, his stance resolute. She didn’t understand him at all. “You’re a monster, Sebastian. You’re the one who demanded a divorce, and now that I’ve signed the papers, you’re playing games with me?” She was furious. Why was it so hard to get a divorce?
“Fine. If you won’t divorce me, then I’ll expose Joanna as the other woman. I’ll leak the records of the five million a month you sent her while we were married, and I’ll sue to get every penny back. I will take this to court.” Thá´‡ link to the origɪn of this information rá´‡sts ɪn.net
“If you’re not afraid of Joanna getting hurt, then I’m not afraid of mutual destruction. I signed the papers and kept quiet about your affair to give us all a shred of dignity.”
“And just a little while ago, Jared stormed in here and screamed at me for not divorcing you, for holding you back from your true love, Joanna.”
“Sebastian, I may have been the one who fell for you first, but from the very beginning, both you and the Scott family were just using me. I knew it, but I loved you, so I let it happen.”
“When Joanna came back, I wanted to fight for a place in your heart. But after being framed over eighty times, and after you refused to believe me over eighty times, I finally ra@out of hope. That’s why I want a divorce.”
Sebastian’s fists clenched. Eighty times. Her two years of devotion, and he had never once trusted here And she had known all along that he was using her to secure control of the company. He’d always wondered why his grandfather had insisted on the marriage. Now he was starting to understand. He still needed to find out who was backing Joanna, who that man that looked just like him was. It wasn’t the time to break things off with her completely, not yet.
“Natalie, besides being grateful to Joanna for saving me, I have never been intimate with her. I have never loved another woman. The person in those photos and videos was not me. And now, even that life debt was a lie. As for the money he’d given Joanna, he would get it all back and give it to Natalie. Joanna had lied to him about more than just one thing.
His words were like a knife to her heart. Grateful for saving him? If she hadn’t pulled him from that fire, there would be no Sebastian today.
“I told you, I never saved you. Joanna did. Divorcing me and marrying her is your best option.”
Sebastian looked deeply into her agitated eyes. He had failed her. He could feel the intensity of her hatred.
“Natalie he began, but trailed off. He gave her one last look and then walked out. She was smart. She would understand, eventually.
