He listened quietly as Natalie and Herbert chatted.
“Natalie, this hand will probably need about a month to heal. The flesh in this area is all torn up. The impact was brutal. That little punk wanted to kill you,” Herbert said, looking at Natalie with concern.
A murderous glint flashed in Natalie’s eyes.
“That’s right. But I won’t let him off the hook. He started this.”
Herbert, aware of her situation, added, “Do you think that kid might be colluding with Sebastian and Joanna?”
Natalie replied, “It’s possible. Sebastian would give his life for Joanna. If Joanna teamed up with the Spencer family, Sebastian might help her too.”
“But there’s no evidence yet. I found out Joanna met with Yves, but there’s been no movement from Sebastian’s side.”
“By the time she makes a move, you’ll be trapped in her scheme again,” Herbert said, looking at her worriedly.
Natalie laughed in exasperation. “Can’t you wish me a little good luck?”
“But you’re not lucky! We warned you back then that the Scott and Griffith families were bad news. But you plunged right in for the sake of so-called family, only to get yourself hurt so badly.”
“Every time I see you, I just want to shake some sense into you.”
Natalie smiled and quickly changed the subject. “This bisque is delicious.”
“Of course it is! My personal chef made it. After you’ve recovered, you and lan should come over to my place have the chefmake your some premium lobster sashimi.”
“lan, you remember that. Once I’m out of the hospital, we’re going to their place for a free meal.”
lan saw her bright smile and grinned back. “Okay, Natalie.”
“You! Afraid I’ll run off? Anyway, your brother is coming back soon. When is Lennon getting back?”
“That kid still owes me a meal. My family has a project we want to collaborate with Lennon on. I’m just waiting for him to return.”
Natalie smiled. “Lennon won’t be back until my birthday. You’re not in a rush, so you can approach him about the collaboration then.”
“Sounds good. I’m swamped right now anyway. I’ve got a lot of patients here waiting for surgery.” Herbert was a doctor who truly cared for his patients.
He took excellent care of everyone under his charge, which was his calling from the start.
That was why Natalie could confidently entrust the hospital to him; he was the most suitable director.
After dinner.
lan still wouldn’t leave. Natalie said with a smile, “lan, I’m heading home soon I can dress my wound myself: Your grandmother is about to be discharged. Have you found a place totive yet?”

grandmother’s health.”
