Chapter 539
Chapter 539
Marshall smiled, a dazzling yet calculating expression in his eyes.
“Natalie, did you know? My father almost had a serious accident abroad, and our international business was inexplicably stolen from us. Then, when I went to Wye, I was framed and had the project snatched away. If you hadn’t prepared in advance, I’d be in prison right now. The wicked are truly wicked. They’ve forced me to grow up fast in just a few months p>
“One of their schemes fails, and they just move on to the next. We can’t let them keep doing this. We have to shift from being reactive to proactive p>
Natalie was worried about what was supposed to happen in two days. She wasn’t sure if he could handle it. “The most urgent thing is what’s coming in two days. I wonder who will be the one to report the Spencer family p>
“I’ll go to Yves and tell him Maxwell will be released in three days. Have someone tail him; he won’t stay out of trouble. If it’s not your uncle who reports it, it will be someone else. I’ll have Luna investigate. You should also secretly have your own people look into anyone you suspect. Therefore, schedule the auction for tomorrow. Let’s get Joanna to buy the land first p>
As long as the Spencer family didn’t fall, Joanna would be anxious.
To be the ultimate winner, you have to avoid their main thrust and strike when they least expect it.
Marshall understood her meaning. If they scheduled the auction for three days from now and the news broke about them using substandard building materials, the Spencer family’s stock would plummet, and the land’s value would be driven down.
“Natalie, let’s do it. I’ll go arrange the auction p>
Marshall looked into Natalie’s clear, calm eyes and felt a sense of reassurance. With her around, he truly felt at ease.
Natalie nodded with a smile. “Good. Once this is done, I have some good news for you. We can make money together, and we’ll bring in Mr. Monroe. He’s mature and reliable; partnering with him is a sure bet p>
“Hehe… that’s great! Natalie, I’m so lucky to have met you p>
Marshall’s eyes reddened. He had been on an emotional rollercoaster lately. He’d lived a life of privilege, getting whatever he wanted, and had never imagined someone would try to steal his family’s fortune.
Seeing his teary eyes, Natalie
pressed her lips together. The future, was still uncertain, but as long as she protected herself, no one could hurt her.
She lowered her head and ate a few of the marinated peanuts. They were crispy and delicious.
Marshall waited until she was finished before asking her to call Joanna.
Instead of calling, Natalie sent Joanna a text message.
[Joanna, I was too late. Marshall found out that the Westwood Hills land has been rezoned into several new sectors, and its value has skyrocketed fie’s not willing ng Willing to sell it
to you for a low price. He ne
an auction tomorrow. If you want it, you’ll have to bid for it. There are too many people interested in this land p>
When Joanna saw Natalie’s message, she sneered. Did Natalie really think she was that important to Marshall?
He wouldn’t even do her this small favor.
She immediately called Natalie.
Natalie knew Joanna would call to mock her. She answered and put the phone on speaker so Marshall could hear.
“Hello p>
“Natalie, I thought you had such a good relationship with Mr. Spencer. He wont even grant your such a
small favor really overestimated you p>
“If you hadn’t ruined my plans last time, that fool Marshall would still be helping me.
It wouldn’t be your turn, Natalie p>
“It’s perfect, actually. You two losers together makes things easier for me p>
