Chapter 718
Chapter 718
Mr. and Mrs. Yates heard the commotion and ran over to see their daughter passed out on the floor.
Mr. Yates looked at his wife and asked, “Honey, are we being too cruel to our daughter by doing this p>
Mrs. Yates shook her head, tears streaming down her face. She whispered, “Cruel? If we aren’t hard on her this one time, she’ll never grow up. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened with Joanna. Our daughter was used by her. Joanna washed her hands of the whole mess, and our family would have ended up in a much worse state. The situation now is actually for the best. Even though we’ve stabilized the company, in our daughter’s eyes, it’s bankrupt p>
“No matter what, she’s the daughter I carried for nine months. No matter how bad she is, she’s still my daughter. It’s my fault for not teaching her well. You handle the company. I’ll focus on helping her grow up. This time, I’ll personally guide and supervise her, and teach her how to be a decent person p>
Mr. Yates’s tears fell like rain as he agreed with his wife’s plan. “I understand. We’ll leave this place and move to another city, far away from Yeri’s good-for-nothing friends who only know how to party. Our daughter will change for the better p>
No amount of money was more important than their daughter’s life.
Mr. Yates made the decision right then and there. Leaving might be the best thing for them.
Mrs. Yates was very worried about Mrs. Wilson. She said tearfully, “Mrs. Wilson and I are good friends. She called me last night to warn me about Joanna, but before I could do anything, this happened p>
“Honey, Mrs. Wilson exposed the affair between Nathan, Sophia, and Mr. Wilson. I can’t believe something happened to her so quickly p>
“But isn’t Natalie the killer? Hasn’t she already been arrested p>
Mr. Yates was shocked. Could someone really be so bold as to commit a crime in the middle of all this?
Mrs. Yates shook her head. “Joanna and Natalie can’t stand each other. It’s almost certain that Natalie was framed. Joanna wants to clear her name, and Sophia and Mr. Wilson want revenge. That’s why they framed Natalie p>
“Whether Natalie killed Mrs. Wilson or not, this kind of public opinion helps cleak Joanna’s name. That’s their goat they want Joanna to look innocent from start to finish, which is why they’re dragging Natalie through the mud p>
“But Natalie has the Spencer family behind her. These are powerful, old-money families with connections everywhere. We can’t get involved in what happens next. Let’s just get our daughter to the hospital p>
Mr. Yates lifted his daughter onto his back and called his son, telling him to bring the car around to take her to the hospital.
It only took a few hours for the Yates family’s reputation to collapse.
Sebastian hadn’t acquired their company. Mrs. Yates had gone to him and managed to hold him off.
But it was too late to stop Marshall.
The Yates family was brought to its knees, but they learned their lesson. The company had already been on shaky ground. Marshall’s interference, while chaotic, had tonically helped them. The faltering company was bought out, which in turn filled the financial gaps in his own company.
Sometimes, a crisis can be a turning point.

Mrs. Yates personally recorded a message to apologize to Natalie: “Ms. Natalie, I am so sorry. My daughter was foolish and, under Joanita’s deliberate manipulation, said some horrible things about you. For that, I am deeply sorry Everything Yeri knew about the
conflict between you and Joanna
came from Joanna herself p>
The apology was simple, but naming Joanna effectively pinned the blame on her.
Mrs. Yates had no intention of letting Joanna, who had schemed against her daughter, get away with it.
The phrase “deliberate manipulation” was enough to ensure Joanna couldn’t clear her name.
Joanna had thought the situation was under control and that she could salvage her reputation.
