Chapter 1124
It was infuriating. Their enemies were like relentless cockroaches, slipping through every crack.
Keith frowned, a murderous glint in his eyes. “Luna, I should have gone with you.”
Luna shook her head. “What good would that have done? Would your presence have magically stopped a car from ramming into us?”
Keith paused. Seeing that they were both safe, he let the argument drop. “Just make sure you take Tyler and Ethan with you whenever you leave the house from now on,” he advised.
Luna nodded. Joanna was clearly losing her mind, and they needed to be on high alert. Danger lurked in every shadow.
Natalie looked at them both. “It’s fine, it’s over. Go get some sleep. I’m exhausted.” She stood up and limped upstairs.
“I know it was Joanna,” Luna grumbled to Keith. “It has to be.”
There was simply no one else crazy enough to pull a stunt like that.
Keith narrowed his eyes, studying Luna’s cold, serious face. He offered a comforting smile. “Alright, take it easy. This will all be resolved eventually. We’re just waiting for the right moment.”
Natalie had been planning her counterattack for nearly a year. Now that he had returned, there was no need to keep holding back.
Luna understood. She stood up. “Goodnight. You guys get some sleep too.”

Back in her room, Natalie washed up and collapsed onto her bed. Her neck still throbbed from the whiplash.
Her delicate features were icy, her skin as smooth and porcelain-clear as Italian marble. Her long eyelashes fluttered, barely concealing the raging inferno in her eyes.
“Joanna. It had to be her.”
She gently massaged the back of her head.
She was deeply looking forward to January 8th.
Once she uncovered the full truth, she would create the perfect opportunity for Sebastian to make his grand return.
As for that hired thug tonight, he deserved everything he got. He deserved to be played and left with absolutely nothing.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Sleep eluded her completely.
She grabbed her phone and texted Queena.
Queena had built a wildly successful consulting business, catering to elite clients who paid top dollar for her guidance. She had recently escorted a client’s grandmother overseas and stayed behind to handle a massive new contract.

Natalie smiled. [Are you just saying that to cheer me up?]
Still, the words “perfect” and “fulfillment” filled her with a warm sense of hope. Her eyes sparkled like stars, and for a moment, she looked vibrantly alive, absolutely radiant.
Queena: [Not at all. Honestly, I’m jealous of you. I really am.]
Natalie frowned. She had suffered so much. Why would Queena be jealous?
