Chapter 762
Sawyer:
A Few Days Ago:
“Hmmm, mmmm,” I was humming the melody of a song while running gel through my hair after it had dried a little.
Taking a hot bath in such a comfortable jacuzzi after so long felt like heaven.
I’m not sure why I had to miss this life.
“Because a woman decided she should put us to sleep, keep us around like pieces
of furniture, and use us as though we didn’t have our own identities,” my lycan
hissed.
Saw was different.
He thought just like me.
He was mostly angry, just as I was.
We were a perfect match.
I liked the way he thought, never really considering anyone else.
“You’re damn right,” I scoffed, rolling up my sleeves a little as I looked myself over.
“Well, at least I only took a one-year nap,” I remarked with a shrug, trying to stay positive.
“Tell me when you’re hungry,” I told my lycan.
My eyes shifted to the mirror, where Nina was sitting on her knees beside the bed, covered in blood, with her hands tied above her head.
“She’s going to be an excellent source of blood for us,” I commented.
“Where is my father?” she whimpered, making me roll my eyes as I put on my coat.
“I don’t know,” I replied with a shrug. “I was just hungry. I don’t know if I drank his
blood or ate him. I’m not sure.” I didn’t put much thought into it.
After I found my lycan, I had dismissed most of my maids and servants.
I only kept a few, whose families I had taken into my custody.
Who knew what they might stumble across?
If they saw anything unusual, they weren’t supposed to speak of it, or their families would become my lycan’s next targets.
“But you took him with you,” she whimpered, pleading with me through her eyes.
I sat down and slipped on my shoes.
Now I was facing her. I sat comfortably on the couch while she remained on her knees.
From the scrapes on them, I could tell she had been in the same position for hours. “I’ve told the maid to search the entire mansion. If she finds him somewhere, she’ll let us know,” I answered calmly, trying not to lose my patience with her.
“What do you mean by that?” she whimpered.
“I don’t know where I left his body. I mean, my lycan was a little angry. He must have eaten him, drained his blood, or whatever, and hidden the body somewhere. That’s what he does,” I replied bitterly.
I was lying.
I knew exactly where he was.
He was tied up in a secure room, along with the important documents I needed to remain president.
All the essential records of the human realm were there, along with the official seal, the keys, the access codes to the digital databases, and the weapon systems.
I had to keep them safe.
I had to make sure I remained president.
Then there was the fact that I had a daughter I needed to meet at some point.
The problem was that her memory was intact, and Gina wouldn’t stop asking for Baxter and Madeline.
Through her, I found out those suckers had gotten married.
They had lived a very happy life.
Her mother loved cuddling with Baxter on the couch in their cursed cabin.
The thought alone filled me with rage.
“There’s only one good thing that came out of you putting me in a coma,” I said to Nina after slipping on my shoes.
A smile played on my lips, and she immediately began sobbing.
“It woke my lycan,” I added.
My jaw clenched as I remembered how my lycan had been put to sleep in the first place.
“Anyway, when we find your father, we’ll let you know,” I said, getting to my feet. Just then, there was a soft knock on the door.
“Come in,” I called.
The same maid whose newborn was now in my custody walked in.
She wouldn’t even look at Nina because she was afraid that anything she did might anger me.
“What is it?” I asked, noticing the envelope in her hand.
“Your Highness, I found this on the floor next to the kitchen window,” she explained, holding it out to me.
I took the envelope and stared at it for a moment.
“Get out!” I barked at the maid and she hurried out.
I lifted the envelope to my nose and sniffed it.
Then I opened it, and my face immediately tightened as I recognised the scent.
‘Sawyer, I know you’re looking for me. And I’m ready to face you. Because I’m here for my children. Nothing you do will stop me from Seeing them
My jaw clenched at his audacity.
There was an address.
It pointed to an abandoned school near the woods.
I nodded repeatedly, hissing through my nose.
“Well, it seems like the bastard came here and dropped off the letter,” I growled.
My body began to shake with anger.
Nina looked at me, and through her eyes I realised just how furious I was.
My face was turning red, and so were my eyes.
“I couldn’t get him because I was busy dealing with you and your. pathetic excuse for a father. Did that bastard really sneak in here and leave this letter?” I roared.
I screamed at the top of my lungs, realising that bastard had been so close, yet he had still managed to escape because these idiotschad kept me occupied.
