Chapter 799
Sawyer:
The funny part was that I’d returned to the same land where my parents had once been told they didn’t belong.
When my parents survived back then, they fled to the human world.
They were probably afraid that if we lived among their fellow wolves, someone was bound to discover what I was, and I would be forced to transition.
And, well, my Lycan side would be difficult to subdue, control, or silence.
That was why living among humans seemed like a good idea.
Then came the treatments, shot after shot, until they finally managed to put my Lycan into a coma.
But when I fell into a coma and eventually woke up, I wasn’t the only one who awakened.
My Lycan did too.
Which was why I was certain there was absolutely no way Baxter’s wolf hadn’t awakened with him after he came out of his coma.
After arriving in werewolf territory, I met up with his mother, who was desperately trying to survive.
I didn’t tell her that her son was alive.
She sat with me, crying about how her son had died, how the monster had taken him, how someone had attacked him and left him on a mountain top to die, and how her husband had passed away afterward.
It was such a boring story, but I had to pretend to be interested because, at the moment, that woman was my only chance of getting out of there.
So I willingly lent her my ears, and she took full advantage of them.
She babbled and yapped and yapped.
After a while, she told me Bodhi was with her because she’d stolen him.
News about everything else reached us quickly after Ron arrived.
We had food and everything else provided for us because we were no longer hiding in the castle.
The council members, their helpers, and the warriors all knew we were there, so they kept us supplied until it was time for us to leave.
We were supposed to travel to a particular pack led by someone called Black Widow, where I had to give a speech to the werewolves about why they should trust me and how I could be useful to them.
“So, how was it?” I asked Lady Eugenia as she entered the mansion again, removing her cape and taking a deep breath.
Earlier, she had gone out to speak with her people.
She didn’t have many left, but having lived as an Alpha’s wife, she still had a few trusted people who, upon seeing her back on her feet, had decided to help her.
There were only a handful of warriors, but we had come up with a plan.
“It went well,” she replied, rubbing her hands together.
Bodhi had fallen asleep, and honestly, he’d been keeping his distance from me. I could understand why.
That kid was growing up now, and unlike Elara and Gina, he remembered how I used to treat them.
Of course, I’d always used my harsh tone toward them as an excuse, telling myself it was for their own good, that it would teach them better behavior and give them a better upbringing.
But the truth was, sometimes they simply annoyed me.
They weren’t my children, so of course I was not emotionally connected to them.
“So, what do I have to do again today?” I asked her, straightening my posture.
I had to let her take control because she had an evil mind, and she could do wonders with it.
The only unfortunate part was that we’d found out the monster had fucking taken Madeline away.
Apparently, there was news that he’d taken her to the human world, and the information had come from there.
I just didn’t understand why.
Then, of course, it hit me.
Anyone crossing over to the other side wasn’t getting there by some river or boat.
It was through the fucking monster on the mountain top.
And now that I was here, the humans and werewolves were in close contact once again.
“So, all you have to do is let your Lycan out and control him so he only attacks the monster protecting the pack members and the audience,” Lady Eugenia explained as she sat down on the couch.
She spoke in a whisper, trying to make me understand just how important this was.
“I’ll try my best.” I shrugged. “But my Lycan is really angry right now,” I added, reminding her that I’d been kicked out of my own land, where I’d been president.
“Listen, being president is nothing compared to holding the title of Alpha King And they’ve recently opened up the position, Fortunately, for them, that Elgin isn’t fit to be Alpha King. But you, on the other hand, are powerful. You definitely fit the role.”
your
She continued, “All you have to do is show them that your Lycan isn’t dangerous. So we’ll make sure Lycan is well-fed before you go. there. Then I’ll have my warriors plant meat around the area. The monster will come. He’ll definitely come for either the meat or the

people because he wont be able to
distinguish which one he’s supposed to attack. Because, well, let’s be
honest, some people are very meaty around here.”

She burst out laughing, making me laugh along with her before her expression turned serious again.
“Anyway, when the monster attacks, you attack him. Just him,” she finished.
I gave her a weary nod.
