Chapter 805
Sawyer:
Rosetta stared at the man, and I already knew she was going to interrogate him.
Like mother, like daughter. They were both very cunning.
But it didn’t matter. What could she prove anyway?
“Would you like to help us?” I asked Rosetta.
She just stared at me. Her eyes started to water. Even her own friends began to
look her way.
“I’ll wait for your call. We would like to have all hands on deck to resolve this matter,”
I murmured before pulling away.
Then I gestured for Lady Eugenia to walk away with me.
This time, I wasn’t put in handcuffs.
In fact, the council members had left their warriors there to keep the area secure from me, while also providing me with food, clothes, and other necessities.
Ha. I guessed it wasn’t that bad to be in a werewolf land after all.
Being the king here was better than being a president in a world full of weak people.
War was close.
After proving myself and helping these people, they were about to realize that I was the only person in the world who could help them this way.
Once they understood that, my demands were going to increase.
They had no idea what I intended to ask of them.
And there was only one thing I wanted, Madeline.
I was going to demand that the humans give her to me.
After that, I wanted to see how Baxter planned to hold on to his presidency.
Word had reached me about what he had done.
He had done everything he could to become president, and now that Madeline was there, I could only imagine what kind of mess the two of them were making together.
But I was going to destroy their happiness.
Once I made my demands, I wanted to see how anyone would let them remain happy.
I was thinking about starting a war.
Before that, though, I had to deal with Madeline’s friends here.
They were becoming quite a nuisance themselves.
They had already caused enough trouble and were beginning to think they could slowly take over.
But that was the situation I was dealing with.
Lydia Eugenia and I drove back comfortably in the car.
When we arrived at the mansion, work was already underway, and the place was being cleaned.
I had stayed at this mansion for only one reason: Baxter had spent his childhood
here, and I wanted to take everything that had ever belonged to him.
Whatever was his was mine. I wasn’t going to leave him with anything.
Call it jealousy, anger, or revenge.
Baxter had broken my heart. He had hurt me deeply.
When my Lycan finally told me the truth and restored my last memories, my anger toward Baxter doubled.
Again, it wasn’t about Madelina anymore.
No, no, no.
I finally understood why I had felt so connected to him.
He had broken our brotherhood, and in my eyes, the punishment for that had to be
severe.
As soon as I entered the house, a nanny came outside with Bodhi.
Bodhi looked at both of us, turned his face away again, and started heading back inside with his shoulders slumped.
“Come on, Bodhi. Come here,” I called to him before whistling.
He stopped, turned around, and gave me a bizarre look.
“He’s never enthusiastic. I don’t
know what’s wrong with him. Met
he
son used to be so active when hẹ was a child,” Lydia Eugertia complained as she walked away.
“Ignore her. Come here,” I told him as I sat down on the couch.
Bodhi came over and sat on the far end of the couch, leaving a huge distance between us.
“You know, I’m doing everything I can to bring your mother home,” I began.
He rolled his eyes and folded his arms across his chest.
“That’s not true,” he whined, causing me to tilt my head at him.
“Why would you say that?” I asked, my eyes and voice filled with nothing but affection for him.
“Because Mommy was never happy with you. So why would you want to bring her here? Why not take me to her?”
Bodhi surprised me when he spoke. Just like his father.
Well, that was a lie.
Baxter wasn’t his father anymore. I was his father.
Baxter had betrayed me for the life he had built for himself.
For such a messed-up life, he had taken an enormous risk by turning against me.
“Bodhi, whether you like it or not, the
truth is that you, your mother, and your sisters were very happy in the human world. At least all of you were alive. Do you remember what happened to your sister?
As soon as I said it, I watched tears gather in his eyes.
“So accept it, because I’m going to remarry your mother here. Start behaving,” I told him as I rose from the couch, then turned around and smiled at him.
“Oh, by the way,” I added, leaning toward him.
He suddenly scooted away in fear.
“Both your sisters are alive,” I whispered in his ear.
His shoulders jolted.
He looked up at me, and I pressed a finger to my lips to hush him.
Then I winked at him before walking away.
