Chapter 500
But Anastasia remembered Ms. Evelyn all too well-just moments ago, Evelyn had been the loudest critic, nearly slapping Regan across the face in her anger.
Anastasia fell silent.
She was about to speak again when Regan suddenly raised his voice. “I’m the managing director here! None of you have the right to question my decisions!”
He’d finally dropped the pretense. What did it matter if Anastasia was unhappy? Or if Mr. Lynn and the others objected? Regan had run Unison Pharma Ltd. for so many years, it practically belonged to him now. As long as he refused to budge, what could Anastasia possibly do?
He glanced at the department heads desperately trying to fight back, wearing a cold, dismissive smile. If this had happened right after Cecilia’s death, maybe things would have been different. But now, after all these years, most of the old guard had already been pushed out-only a handful of department heads remained, and even they were untouchable for now. The majority of employees in the company were his own recruits, loyal to him and ready to follow his orders without question.
Did Mr. Lynn and the others think they could oppose him? Did Anastasia really believe she could take the company back? Only if he allowed it!
But there was one thing Regan always forgot about Anastasia—she never played by the rules, and she was as stubborn as they came.
The words had barely left his mouth when Anastasia let out a cold, sharp laugh.
In the next instant, she waved her hand. “Get him out of here.”
The stern, disciplined bodyguards didn’t hesitate; they strode forward and seized Regan by the arms.
Regan was stunned. He never imagined that Anastasia would use the same tactics on him that she’d just used on Lauren.
“You wouldn’t dare—!” he spat at her, eyes blazing with fury and disbelief.
Anastasia just smiled coolly. “That’s exactly what Lauren said. Want to see if I dare?”
“Effective immediately, you’re fired.”
She raised her hand again, signaling the bodyguards to drag him out.
Regan struggled in their grip,
scoffing loudly. “Fire me? You really think you can? Half this company is loyal to me! Without me Unison Pharma Ltd will grind to a halt!”
That was his trump card, the reason he’d always felt untouchable. He expected Anastasia to back down the moment he said it.
But the reality was nothing like he’d
imagined. Anastasia didn’t even
spare him a glance, she just
sported
and nodded to the bodyguards.
“Throw him out.”
She didn’t waver for a second. Regan stared at her in disbelief, shouting, “You’re really firing me? Are you insane?!”
Anastasia didn’t even blink.
Insane? No-leaving a treacherous wolf like him in the company would have been true madness.
Regan’s protests faded as he was hauled away. The grand ballroom fell completely silent.
The room was reeling; the day’s upheaval was almost too much to process.
Suddenly, Anastasia’s voice rang out-clear, gentle, yet carrying an unmistakable authority.
“From this day forward, I am the chairperson of the company.”
Heads turned toward the stage. There she stood, poised and unruffled,
commanding the room with her presence.
No one dared to whisper another word about her. If Lauren and Regan had been thrown out, who else could challenge her?
In less than half an hour, everyone had learned just how formidable Miss Anastasia truly was.
Her gaze swept over the audience, her tone cool and nonchalant, yet chillingly firm.
“Lauren is gone. Regan is gone. Neither of them will ever set foot in Unison Pharma Ltd. again.”
