Chapter 435
Global Harmony Medical Institute.
Anastasia had come expecting classes, but soon realized that this place was nothing like a typical school. There were lectures every day, yes, but attending them was entirely optional. The atmosphere was easygoing-students were free to follow their own path, choosing self-study or only seeking out professors when they hit a wall.
The professors themselves were legends in the medical world, renowned experts whose reputations had traveled far beyond these halls-naturally, only the best could possibly be entrusted with teaching such prodigies.
“Most people like to spend their time in the library. There are medical books there you won’t find anywhere else,” her guide explained. “You should check it out.”
Anastasia nodded. “Thank you, I will.” Curiosity piqued, she made her way toward the library after they parted ways.
She hadn’t gotten far when her name drifted out from a nearby study room.
“Anastasia? She’s supposed to arrive today, isn’t she?”
Anastasia stopped in her tracks, glancing sideways toward the open door. She narrowed her eyes slightly, recognizing the sound of hushed gossip.
Inside, three or four students-both men and women-were clustered together, faces twisted with disdain.
“I’ll admit, she’s gorgeous. I actually liked her at first, but what she did yesterday was way out of line!”
“Exactly! So what if Lauren’s adopted? Does that mean she deserves to be looked down on? I honestly feel bad for Lauren.”
“If you ask me, adopted or not, Lauren is still so much better than Anastasia! Lauren’s been a genius since she was little-she’s brought the Brennan family so much pride. Anastasia, on the other hand? I did some digging… Ugh, she’s been useless her whole life.”
“I mean, childhood rumors are whatever-people talk. But what really bugs me is the entrance exam. She got a perfect score! Honestly, she must have cheated. It’s like she wanted everyone to know!”
Anastasia had heard enough. She stepped forward and rapped her knuckles sharply on the open door.
The group inside froze mid-sentence, their faces draining of color as they looked up.
“Anastasia
The awkwardness was almost palpable. Getting caught gossiping by the subject herself there was no easy way out of that.
Anastasia smiled, poised and graceful in the doorway. “So you all know who I am. Looks like you did your homework—I’m flattered.”
“But there are a few things I need to set straight.”
“First, I don’t look down on Lauren because she’s adopted. What I can’t stand is someone who can’t recognize her place and tries to take what isn’t hers.”
“If Lauren had ever once admitted that she was adopted, instead of pretending to be the real daughter wouldn’t dislike her so much—even if she took my inheritance, even if she claimed the legacy my mother left for me.”

“Second, I got a perfect score on the exam because I was capable of it Just because you couldn’t do it yourselves doesn’t mean anyone who can must have cheated.”
“If you have proof I cheated, fine-I’ll accept it. But if you don’t, then please stop
the baseless accusations. Honestly, it just sounds really bitter.”
Silence. The whole room stared at the girl in the doorway, stunned.
“Isn’t that a bit arrogant?” someone managed, voice shaky.
How could she just say she had the skill, and they didn’t? They’d all gotten in before her, lauded as prodigies, the cream of the
crop how could Anastasia possibly outshine them?
“Well… she kind of has a point,” a quieter girl admitted, embarrassment coloring
her cheeks. “We don’t actually have any proof she cheated
