Chapter 507
Except for Mr. Brennan, everyone in the room had met Harrison before, but his presence still sent a wave of pressure through them, making them tense instinctively.
Mr. Brennan’s sharp, deep-set eyes fixed on the man. “You must be Mr. Harrison Lancaster.”
“Mr. Brennan Sr.,” Harrison acknowledged with a cool nod.
“Grandfather, Uncle Murray, Winni,” Anastasia greeted them one by one, a calm smile on her face.
Winni’s expression soured. She had summoned Anastasia here to apologize, and she had brought Harrison Lancaster with her. What was that supposed to mean? Was she trying to use his power to intimidate them? Latest content publıshed on.net
After her greetings, Anastasia’s gaze fell on Lauren. Seeing the dramatic and conspicuous injuries, she couldn’t help but let out a derisive little smile. Lauren was certainly willing to go to great lengths to frame her.
“Ms. Brennan, what happened to you? You look like you’ve been through the wringer. Did someone attack you?”
Her sarcastic tone made Winni’s face darken. She stood up abruptly. “You, of all people, should know exactly what happened to Lauren.”
Anastasia’s expression didn’t change. “Funny, I don’t seem to recall. Why don’t you refresh my memory, Ms. Brennan?”
Lauren shot Winni a pained smile and shook her head slightly. “Winni, maybe we should just let it go Her words were a masterful performance, suggesting she was backing down out of fear of Harrison or respect for Anastasia’s position as the true heir.
But this only fueled Winni’s anger. She glared at Anastasia, about to launch into another tirade, when Murray gently placed a hand on her arm.
He turned to Anastasia, his tone mild. “Anastasia, Lauren claims you had your people injure her like this. Is that true?”
Anastasia didn’t confirm or deny it. “I have two questions for Ms. Brennan first,” she said. “One, where did I supposedly injure you? And two, why would I?”
The questions were surgical, cutting straight to the heart of the matter. To answer them, Lauren would have to bring up Unison Pharma and the events of the annual meeting She would have to explain why she, Lauren Brennan, was at Unison Pharma in the first place
Unison Pharma was Cecilia’s legacy, left to her biological daughter. While Mr. Brennan had yet to hand it over to Anastasia, he hadn’t given it to Laure either. So, what was an adopted daughter doing attending the annual meeting as if she were the future owner?

Anastasia raised her eyes, a cool, humorless smile playing on her lips as she looked at Lauren.
Lauren lowered her gaze, a dark, cold smile forming in her mind. Did Anastasia really think she hadn’t prepared for this? She wouldn’t have dared to set this trap if she hadn’t covered all her bases. Trying to use this against her? How foolish.
Outwardly, she pressed her lips together and said in a clear, resolute voice, “It happened at Unison Pharma. The reason? You despise me. You think I don’t belong there, that I’m trying to steal what’s yours again.”
She took a deep, steadying breath, the very picture of forbearance. “But I was only there as an intern. Unison Pharma is a pharmaceutical company, which is directly related my field of study for several years now, with Grandfather’s permission, I’ve been interning there to gain experience.”
“Mr. Frost specifically invited me to today’s meeting. He thought that since Unison Pharma is part of the Brennan family’s holdings, and I am part of the family, I could represent the Brennans and offer some words of encouragement to the employees. That was all.”
