“Buy this restaurant for me three days, no excuses!” she snapped into her phone, her voice sharp with irritation.
As she ended the call, her gaze drifted absently across the room-until it suddenly sharpened, locking onto a scene unfolding outside.
Not far from where she stood, a man and a woman were emerging from the restaurant, flanked by a team of bodyguards. The man was tall, commanding, with an unmistakable air of power. The woman beside him was slender and graceful, her presence lively and captivating.

“Shirley, what are you staring at?” Penelope’s voice broke in.
Shirley frowned, irritation flickering across her face. “Nothing,” she snapped.
The truth was, she was annoyed she hadn’t managed to see more-but then she scoffed at herself. So what if she had? Was she seriously going to believe that was actually Anastasia? What a joke.

Just thinking of that girl soured her mood even further. She turned to Penelope, impatience clear in her voice. “The thing I asked you to handle-did you get it done?”
