Chapter 564
Meeting Anastasia’s gaze, Stella suddenly shivered, instinctively taking a step back. The heel of her shoe bumped against the riser of the step above.
“Wh-what do you want?”
Anastasia had only asked a casual, probing question, but Stella’s extreme reaction caught her off guard. “Why are you so afraid of me?” she asked, genuinely puzzled. She couldn’t recall doing anything to Stella. Wasn’t the punishment a result of Stella’s own actions angering Harrison?
Stella glared at her. “Who-who’s afraid of you?”
Despite her words, as Anastasia stepped out from behind Harrison to approach her, Stella scrambled back another step, as if bracing for an attack.
Anastasia raised an eyebrow. A wicked glint appeared in her eyes, and she reached for Stella. “I can’t seem to fall asleep. Why don’t we have a little chat—”
Before she could finish, Stella’s face went pale. “Who wants to talk to you!” she shrieked.
She dodged Anastasia’s hand so frantically that she lost her footing and fell backward onto the stairs. In a flash, she scrambled back up and fled as if for her life. “Uncle Harrison, I’m going to bed now!!”
Anastasia was left speechless.
A series of question marks popped into her head. She turned to Harrison for confirmation. “I haven’t done anything to her, have I?” Why was Stella so terrified of her, as if she were some kind of monster?
Harrison was equally baffled. “What on earth has Marcus been telling her?”
The mention of Marcus made things click for Anastasia.
“Exactly! What nonsense has he been telling her about me?”
She started to march upstairs to confront Marcus but was promptly grabbed by Harrison. “Time for bed,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
And regardless of whether she was sleepy or not, he led her back to the bedroom and tucked her into bed.

The next day, the highly anticipated Pharmaceutical Innovation Summit had arrived. More than twenty pharmaceutical companies were in attendance, but the one everyone was watching was Unison Pharma Ltd.
To everyone’s surprise, the Brennan Group had also made an appearance this
year, with Murray personally leading their delegation.
Back when Cecilia was alive, the
UT
Brennan Group was a ubiquitous presence at such events. But since her death, the company had suffered a major blow and had kept a low profile for years. They often received invitations to conferences like this but rarely accepted. No one had heard any rumors that they would be participating this year.
Of course they hadn’t-Murray had changed his mind at the last minute. He had
to see for himself if Anastasia’s new drug was real.
As he was led into the venue, Murray felt a conflict raging within him. On one hand, it seemed too outrageous, Anastasia was probably bluffing. On the other, a small, secret part of him was filled with anticipation
*What if?*
“Anastasia’s here! Look!” someone near the entrance exclaimed.
All heads turned. The team from Unison Pharma had arrived, led by a young woman whose beauty and commanding presence were undeniable. It was Anastasia.
The reporters, who had been lying in wait, swarmed forward, their cameras flashing.
“Ms. Sterling! Can you reveal any details about your new drug now?”
“Ms. Sterling, are you confident? Do you think Unison Pharma will be able to redeem itself this year?!”
