Chapter 605
She muttered on, then looked at Benson again. “If you’re still angry, why are you going to see Anastasia today?”
Benson finally spoke. “There are just some things… I need to ask her.”
He turned to look out the window, falling silent. Follow current nová´‡ls on.net

**Rosewood Manor.**
Anastasia had the day off and was staying in. The night before, she’d been caught secretly playing games on her phone under the covers by Harrison, who had been working late in the study. It was nearly two in the morning.
She had tried to argue that she was too awake to sleep. So, to help her fall asleep, Mr. Harrison Lancaster had been forced to expend some effort. That effort had, unfortunately, gone a little overboard, and as a result, she didn’t come downstairs, yawning, until one o’clock in the afternoon.
She was so drowsy she could barely keep her eyes open as she descended the stairs. She nearly missed a step and tumbled, but Harrison, ever vigilant, caught her in the nick of time, which led to another lecture.
When Benson and Juliet arrived, Anastasia was nestled in Harrison’s arms, whining defensively. “I was only being careless because I saw you coming
Harrison was putting socks on her fair, beautiful feet. Hearing her excuse, his grip on her ankle tightened. “And what if I hadn’t been in time?” he said, his face stern. “What if you had fallen and hurt yourself?”
Still feeling defiant, Anastasia was about to retort when the housekeeper announced, “Mr. Lancaster, Madam, Miss Juliet and Mr. Brennan are here.”
Anastasia instinctively turned her head and met the gazes of her cousin and sister, who had just walked in. She flushed with embarrassment and tried to squirm out of Harrison’s lap.
Harrison glanced up at Benson but didn’t release her. He calmly picked up her other foot and continued putting on her sock. “Juliet, come in and have a seat.’
Juliet nodded obediently. She was already used to seeing Harrison treat Anastasia like a child, holding her and even putting on her socks for her, so she barely reacted.
Benson, however, was seeing it for the first time. The intimate, impenetrable bubble around the couple made him freeze in place.
“Brother?” Juliet said, taking a few steps before turning back to pull him along.
Benson’s lips tightened as he followed her.
“What brings you here, cousin?” Anastasia asked, trying to appear nonchalant since Harrison clearly wasn’t letting her go.
Fearing her brother might say something harsh, Juliet jumped in “He’s here to thank you, of course! it weren’t for you yesterday, my brother would still be lying in bed.”
“Actually,” she continued conspiratorially, “my brother has wanted to see you for a long time but he could never find the right excuse and was too embarrassed to just show up. This time, since you saved him, he finally has a reason to come
“Juliet!” Benson cut her off, his voice sharp with annoyance as he grabbed her
arm.
Juliet blinked, muttering under her
breath, “Well, it’s true. You’ve missed Anastasia a lot. You act like you don’t care, but secretly, every time you see news about her, you spend ages staring at your phone Owl Fine I’ll stop Why did you pinc me?”
Juliet whimpered, rubbing her smarting arm.
Having finally finished with Anastasia’s socks, Harrison looked up at Benson. His
gaze was brief, but it carried an immense, unspoken pressure.
