Chapter 709
“Is everything taken care of?” Harrison asked her.
Anastasia nodded and sat down beside him. Without minding that Barnett and the others were there, she briefly explained the situation and brought up Gwen’s family’s troubles.
“She was dragged into this largely because she was trying to help me. Hubby, could you help her family out?”
Gwen’s family situation wasn’t complicated; they just had a small company with no connections and insufficient capital.
Harrison habitually kneaded her hand, his large palm enveloping her smaller one as if it were a toy. He said casually, “It’s no big deal. I’ll just have Logan Lockwood handle it.”
Anastasia beamed and hugged him. “Thank you, Hubby!”
The three men sitting nearby felt a pang of envy and jealousy so strong it was almost painful.
They had once thought Harrison would be the one to remain single forever. Who knew he would be the first to get married and flaunt his happiness right in front of them?
Marcus felt particularly melancholic. He had a fiancée too, so why did he feel so unfulfilled?
He had never experienced the kind of happiness Harrison had.
There had been a time when he and Yolanda Lockwood were sweet together, but something had always felt missing. He realized his feelings for his fiancée were driven more by responsibility than by romantic love.
Thinking of his fiancée, who was still under suspicion, Marcus’s spirits dampened.
“Harrison, there’s a sea auction in a couple of days. I heard there will be some rare items. Do you want to go?”
“What kind of rare items?” Harrison looked up.
“I heard there will be several priceless medicinal formulas,” Barnett suddenly interjected, his gentle gaze landing on Anastasia. “I believe Anastasia studies medicine?”
Anastasia’s heart skipped a beat. She suddenly remembered her past life, when several of her mother’s lost formulas had been sold at an auction and bought by Queena Sterling.
Queena had then used those formulas to gain immense fame and fortune.
Could this be the same auction?
After all, auctioning medicinal formulas was a rare occurrence.
“Do you want to go, Ana?” Harrison asked, stroking her head.
“Yes, I want to go!” Anastasia replied immediately.
She had to see for herself. lēt
were truly her mother’s lost
formulas she had to get them back. She would not let them fall into Queena’s hands again.
“Then I’ll go along for the fun as well,” Barnett said with a smile.
Harrison glanced at his friend, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
Taken on its own, the statement was harmless. But he had said it right after
Anastasia had agreed to go.
Later, Marcus suggested they all go out for dinner, but before Harrison could agree,
he received a call from home-
His mother, Marina Lawson, had returned.
“Ana and I will head back first. You guys go ahead.”
“Let’s reschedule then,” Tyrone said

Anastasia couldn’t help but laugh at his complaint.
Outside the club, Anastasia got into the car first while Harrison stayed a few steps
behind to speak with Barnett.

She had no idea that Harrison’s expression had turned cool as he asked bluntly—
