“I heard this bracelet has quite a story! It was bought by Mr. Harrison Lancaster himself at the auction a few days ago! I can’t believe it ended up on Monica’s wrist!”

“What’s so surprising? Don’t you know Monica’s boyfriend is a Lancaster? It’s just a bracelet. If Monica wants it, it’s just a word from Mr. Lancaster.”

Monica basked in the flattery, her face beaming with a triumphant smile, her chin

held high.

Someone else asked, “So, will Mr. Lancaster be here today? Will we get a chance to see Mr. Harrison Lancaster?”

She was unhappy but didn’t dare get angry with Lennon, so she could only bottle up her frustration.

Facing the crowd’s questions, she said casually, “Lennon’s very busy. He doesn’t have time to come…”

Someone blurted out, “But it’s your birthday, Monica! Mr. Lancaster isn’t even coming? That’s so disrespectful!”

Monica froze. Meeting the speculative gazes of some of the guests, she quickly added, annoyed, “Lennon was just assigned a major project at the company by the family patriarch. It’s about the business he’s going to inherit, so it’s incredibly important. Compared to that, what’s one birthday party? It’s not like he won’t make it up to me later!”

“Oh, so that’s it! My mistake, I spoke out of turn. Monica, please don’t be angry…”

Monica ignored her. Unwilling to continue the topic, she changed the subject. “Today, I’m going to treat you all to a good show!”

With that, she waved someone over and instructed, “Go wait at the entrance. The moment Anastasia arrives, notify me.”

Meanwhile, Anastasia arrived at the hotel.

Just as she got out of her car, a hotel attendant approached her. “Excuse me, are you Ms. Sterling?”

Anastasia paused. “Yes, I am.”

The attendant said, “The host has been waiting for you. Please, follow me.”

Anastasia assumed “the host” meant the patient’s family and followed him without a second thought.

To her surprise, a few minutes later, she was led to a ballroom.

Seeing the bustling party inside, Anastasia stopped abruptly. She frowned. “Who did you say the host was?”

“Why, the Scott family, of course. Ms. Scott is hosting her birthday party here today. You don’t know Ms. Scott?”

Anastasia was speechless.

Of course she knew Monica. She had just told the butler to throw out the invitation. Who knew she’d end up here by some strange twist of fate?

She had no intention of going in and turned to leave.

But Monica spotted her first-

“Anastasia!”

Monica’s shrill voice immediately drew the attention of all the guests, who turned in unison toward the entrance.

Many people had come to the Scott family’s party today, most of whom would

normally look down on them but were acting particularly enthusiastic.

The reason was simple: the party was being held under the banner of Monica, “Mr. Lancaster’s girlfriend!”

In Riverton, there were plenty of

people who wanted to curry favor with the Lancaster family but had no way in. With the Scott family brandishing that title, who wouldn’ jump at the chance?

Because of this, these guests weren’t in the same social circle as the Lancasters and had no way of knowing the family’s situation. So even though Anastasia appeared in public with Harrison, they didn’t recognize her at all.

Now, they all stared curiously at the entrance, wondering who she was.

Monica walked up to Anastasia, her face twisting into a look of disgust as she took in the simple dress Anastasia was wearing In an exaggerated tone she said ” y goodness, don’t you have a good

boyfriend? You don’t even have a

proper gown?”

Anastasia, who was supposed to play along, had no intention of cooperating. She

was here to treat a patient and wasn’t going to waste her time.

She glanced at the time and said perfunctorily, “You’re right. Whose boyfriend could

possibly be better than yours?”

With that, she turned to leave.

But Monica wasn’t about to let her go?

She immediately reached out to grab her. “Wait a minute—”

As she pulled Anastasia’s arm, a striking bracelet on her wrist was revealed.

Someone immediately exclaimed, “Hey! Monica, her bracelet is exactly the same as yours!”

Monica looked closely and saw that, indeed, Anastasia was wearing a gemstone bracelet identical to her own.

“But I heard Monica’s bracelet is the only one of its kind in the world. Did I remember that wrong…?”

After two seconds of shock, Monica suddenly burst into a contemptuous laugh and shouted-

“Oh my god, Anastasia! You’re wearing a fake!”
