Chapter 825
Anastasia smiled. “There will be more assignments, won’t there? If he had to cheat on the first one, do you really think Yves can handle the rest on his own? Queena will likely have to help him again, and that will be our chance to expose the truth.”
Meanwhile, in a secluded corner.
Pamela gripped Queena’s arm anxiously. “Queena, you promised you’d help me! You said I wouldn’t be expelled!”
She was so agitated that she forgot to lower her voice.
Queena’s eyes flashed as she quickly glanced around. “Quiet!”
Pamela shrank back.
Queena’s face was grim. “I told you I’d help, so I will. What are you so worked up about? You haven’t been expelled yet. As for your side of the deal, if you dare breathe a word of this to anyone, then no one will be able to help you.”
Pamela’s face went white.
After the threat, Queena offered a bit of comfort. “Don’t worry. As long as you keep your mouth shut, I won’t let you be kicked out of the institute. And as I promised, I’ll destroy the leverage I have on your father.”
Pamela, flustered and helpless, nodded repeatedly, her eyes red.
Leverage—evidence of her father embezzling company funds. That was why she had risked her future to lie for Queena.
She didn’t know how Queena had gotten her hands on it, but at this point, she had no choice but to comply.
Queena let out a quiet sigh of relief. Ever since she joined headquarters, she had worked hard to build her network, making connections with numerous staff
members. She hadn’t overlooked the new students either. Discovering Pamela’s father’s secret had been a coincidence, but she never expected it to come in handy
so soon.
“Good, as long as you understand. Remember, not a word.”
After her final warning, Queena left.
Pamela stood there, devastated, for a moment. As she was about to leave, she noticed Anastasia standing nearby, and her expression faltered.
Anastasia walked over with a smile. “Pamela, don’t know what Queena promised you, but she’s not exactly known for keeping her word. You should think carefully about what you’re doing.”
With that, she offered no further advice and strolled away gracefully.
Anastasia had no intention of focusing on Pamela. There would be plenty of opportunities to expose Queena later.
Outside, as she was about to call her driver, she spotted a familiar car.
Her eyes lit up. Was her husband here to pick her up?
Her steps lightened, but as she approached, she saw something was amiss.
Several people were standing on the other side of Harrison’s car. In the
center was a woman wearing a face mask and sunglasses, her face
completely covered. She was
leaning down, saying something to
someone inside the car.
Her entourage of assistants and bodyguards stood watchfully around them.
Anastasia frowned slightly and walked straight toward them.
As she got closer, she heard the woman say to someone in the car, My car broke down and min a real hurry. Sir, could you please help me? It’s just a ride, I’ll pay you back later!”
She was speaking to Harrison in the back seat, but he paid her no mind. The window wasn’t even slightly rolled down; the woman could only peer in through the driver’s side.
Anastasia’s eyes narrowed. She glanced over and saw a car with a flat tire nearby— it had to be the woman’s.
It seemed plausible enough—a broken-down car, a rush to get somewhere, asking Harrison for help.
Plausible, my foot! Couldn’t she just call a cab?
Her expression hardened as she strode forward.
But before she could get close, one of the bodyguards blocked her path.
