Chapter 701
As they reached the door to the private room, it swung open-
“Is that Anastasia, finally?!”
Before Anastasia Sterling could even get a clear look inside, a wave of good- natured heckling washed over her, filled not with malice but with warmth and enthusiasm.
Peering in, she saw seven or eight men, all of whom were now staring curiously at the entrance.
Marcus Jackson stepped forward. “Alright, you lot, behave yourselves. If you scare her off, don’t blame Harrison when he settles the score with you!”
He then personally led Anastasia inside, introducing her to everyone one by one.
They were all on good terms with Harrison Lancaster, but among the group, only two could be considered his closest friends, Marcus included.
One of them was named Tyrone Winters. The moment Anastasia saw him, she felt a flicker of recognition. A closer look confirmed it-the handsome man was none other than the famous actor, Mr. Winters, who was at the peak of his career.
She had seen many of his movies in her past life. She never imagined he would be one of Harrison’s best friends.
Tyrone’s eyes were kind as he offered her a warm smile and extended his hand. “Anastasia, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
Anastasia smiled back. “It’s wonderful to meet you too.”
She remembered hearing in her past life that Mr. Winters was gentle and had the best temperament, and it seemed the rumors were true.
Beside her, Marcus couldn’t help but chuckle, deliberately adding, “You can call her Anastasia, but don’t you dare call her Ana, or else… Ow!!”
Anastasia stomped hard on his foot, shooting him a murderous glare that was practically a silent, teeth-gritted warning.
Marcus struggled to maintain the smile on his face, and the moment she wasn’t looking, he snatched his foot back with a swift ‘swoosh’.
A soft chuckle suddenly broke the silence. “What’s the matter, Marcus?”
The speaker was lounging on a sofa, his figure partially obscured by the dim light of
a corner. Anastasia followed the voice and found herself momentarily captivated.
He was a man who exuded mature charm, with handsome features, silver-rimmed glasses, and a poised, elegant air. A faint smile played on his lips.
In terms of sheer presence, he reminded her of her Uncle Murray Brennan, but this man seemed far more profound.
She had only ever felt this kind of intimidating depth from Harrison, a presence that made one instinctively reserved. Yet, compared to her husband, this man was va

Harrison’s aura was colder and
heavier, his personality more
decisive and domineering. This man, however, was like a pool of stiff
water calm on the surface but impossibly deep
This was Harrison’s other close friend-Barnett Austin.
Barnett was the eldest of the group, already thirty-three, but still single.
“Anastasia, he said, his eyes filled with a smile as he also extended a
hand. His voice was gentle. “I’m
older than Harrison. You can just call me Barnett, as he does.
Feeling a familiar sense of deference, almost as if she were with Harrison,
Anastasia instinctively became more subdued. “Barnett,” she said.
Just then, the door to the room opened again.
“Harrison’s here!”
Anastasia automatically turned around and saw Harrison’s figure appear in the doorway.
Her eyes lit up, a dazzling smile blooming on her face as she turned and ran toward him.
“Hubby!”
Barnett’s gaze nonchalantly followed her joyful figure.
Harrison caught her as she ran to him, took her hand, and led her back into the room, his expression softer than usual. “Have you met everyone?” Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by.net
