Chapter 361
Logan was already waiting outside. When Harrison stepped out, Logan bowed his head respectfully and lowered his voice. “Mr. Harrison Lancaster.”
The gentleness that had lingered on Harrison’s face moments before had vanished, replaced by a chilling, merciless intensity that seemed to radiate from
his very presence.
“What did he say?”
His voice was cold as ice, referring to what had happened at the school gates. He hadn’t made a scene at the time, but that didn’t mean he’d forgotten-or would let ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsá´› ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ
it go.
Logan had already investigated everything. He bowed his head a little lower and recounted Aaron’s actions and words from earlier, not leaving out a single detail.
By the time Logan finished, an icy aura had settled around Harrison, seeping into the bones of anyone nearby.
“Mr. Harrison Lancaster
“I already gave them one chance,” Harrison said, his gaze fathomless and glinting with a cold light that could freeze blood. “Since they don’t want it, let them face the consequences.”
“Go. Take back everything they’ve received over the years that was never rightfully theirs.”
Logan’s eyes widened.
Everything that wasn’t rightfully theirs?
Aaron’s father, Barry, was only an illegitimate son. Everything the family had in Fairhaven was thanks to Harrison’s uncle, the patriarch of the Lancaster family.
And now, Mr. Harrison Lancaster wanted to reclaim it all? Did that mean everything the Lancasters had given them would be stripped away?
This would utterly destroy the Lancaster family.
Last time, Harrison had only broken Aaron’s leg. This time, he was truly angry. Logan felt a chill run down his spine. It was as if Mr. Harrison Lancaster had reverted to his old self-ruthless, decisive, and cold-blooded, just as he’d been before his illness. Was it because he had something he wanted to protect now? But Logan didn’t waste a single word. He simply accepted the order and withdrew. With that one command, Harrison Lancaster turned the world of Fairhaven’s Lancaster family upside down overnight.
The news of the family’s downfall reached Anastasia the next day.
She first saw it on her phone, where Juliet had shared the latest gossip: the Lancaster Group had collapsed overnight and was facing bankruptcy, the Lancaster family about to disappear from Fairhaven entirely. Not long after, she saw Harrison’s uncle calling him over and over.
Harrison ignored every call. He sat beside Anastasia, calmly and elegantly wiping her hands with a napkin after peeling fruit for her, not bothered in the least by the phone ringing incessantly nearby.
Anastasia caught a glimpse of the caller ID-Harrison’s uncle—and in a flash of realization, she gasped.
“Sweetheart, was what happened to the Lancaster family your doing?” Her eyes went wide as she stared at him in shock.
Harrison paused for just a fraction of a second, then continued, making sure her delicate fingers were perfectly clean before setting the napkin aside. His tone was calm and steady. “Yes. Is there something you want to say about it, Ana?”
His deep eyes locked onto hers.
Was there something she wanted to say?
Anastasia’s mouth opened, but the words caught in her throat.
“I’ve made sure everything the Lancaster family ever gave them is being taken back. Without the Lancasters, they’ll disappear from Fairhaven soon enough.”
Anastasia stared at him, even more stunned.
Harrison watched her face closely, not missing even the smallest shift in her expression. When he saw her reaction, the corners of his mouth turned down ever
so slightly, and the atmosphere in the room seemed to grow heavier.
“Ana, are you upset? Wasn’t this what you wanted? Or… do you not want anything bad to happen to Aaron?”
