He was a boy about Carter’s age, equally handsome, though with a much healthier complexion. He greeted her politely and with an open demeanor.
Seeing Stanley, whom she had only ever seen in a faded photograph in her past life, now standing before her full of life, filled Anastasia with a soft warmth, and she chatted with him for quite a while.
As she was about to leave, Bruno suddenly stopped her to talk about the professional gathering he had mentioned before.
“The date is set for two days from now. Here’s an invitation. Take it, and don’t lose
it.”
Though Bruno’s tone was casual, Anastasia could tell that the attendees were all highly respected figures in the medical community. This was no ordinary event.
An invitation like this, though light as a feather, would likely cause a frenzy if it were offered publicly.
