A stray lock of dark hair, damp with sweat, fell over his brow, lending his sharp, brooding features an extra touch of wild, rakish charm.
He walked with an easy, careless stride, head tilted slightly as he chatted with Logan and the others.

Anastasia’s eyes lit up the moment she saw him. She sprang to her feet and dashed across the room.
Harrison turned toward her, his expression unconsciously softening. He automatically opened his arms, and Anastasia practically leapt into his embrace.
“Where have you been?” she whispered with a hint of playful complaint.
Why did he have to show up now, just when she was about to be overwhelmed by Grandma’s endless doting?
Harrison glanced past her and spotted Lady Rose’s beaming grin-so wide her eyes nearly disappeared. Instantly, he understood.
His lips quirked, a low, velvety chuckle almost hidden in his voice. “Did you miss me?”
Anastasia shot him a mortified glare, cheeks flushed. How could he say something like that with Grandma watching?!
Seeing the pair so affectionate, Lady Rose was positively delighted. Her Harrison, finally blooming after all these years-she could hardly believe it!
She sprang to her feet and declared with theatrical exaggeration, “Oh dear, I’m getting old-suddenly I feel quite tired. Wallis, would you help me upstairs for a nap?”
Wallis, who had looked after Lady Rose for years, fought back a smile and quickly ushered her out, ushering the rest of the staff out as well, making sure the young couple had their privacy.
Harrison didn’t call out his grandmother’s clumsy act. With an arm around Anastasia’s slim waist, he gently steered her deeper into the house. “Did you have breakfast? Are you feeling alright?”
Now that everyone else was gone, Anastasia finally felt less embarrassed. She puffed out her cheeks, muttering under her breath, “It’s your fault-why did you let everyone find out?”
Harrison settled onto the couch, and with a slight tug, pulled her right into his lap.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and explained, “It wasn’t me. Grandma’s always worried about me, so she keeps tabs on the house. She figured it out herself.”
“As for the staff-they just put two and two together.”
Anastasia tried to hold onto her indignation, but the edge was gone. She pouted, still feeling a little embarrassed.

She nestled into his embrace, her voice plaintive and full of accusation.
Harrison’s large hand gently massaged her lower back as he looked down at her. “Ana, last night, you were the one who wouldn’t behave.”
Anastasia’s cheeks turned bright red. She remembered all too well that it was her own fault, and fell silent.
Just then, Harrison’s phone rang-Marcus was calling.
Anastasia’s eyes sparkled with mischief. She stayed quietly by his side, waiting until he finished the call. As soon as he hung up, she darted her finger across the screen, instantly pulling up Marcus’s full contact information.

Before he could say anything more, Logan appeared at the doorway, giving Harrison a meaningful look. Glancing at his watch, Harrison ruffled Anastasia’s hair. “I’m going to take a shower. Be good and entertain yourself.”
As soon as he left, Anastasia whipped out her own phone.
