Chapter 472
As the two of them spoke, the middle-aged man couldn’t help but steal a glance at Anastasia.
She was standing close beside Harrison, their fingers tightly intertwined-a clear display of intimacy.
The man’s mind raced, remembering Harrison Lancaster’s reputation. He hesitated, then probed carefully, “Mr. Lancaster, this young lady is
Harrison answered with a down-to-earth smile, “My wife.”
The man’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Anastasia couldn’t hide a small, secret smile as she glanced at Harrison’s sharp, handsome profile. Hearing her husband introduce her so directly-it was a novel feeling.
Clearly stunned, the man stammered, “Y-You’re married, Mr. Lancaster? That’s… well, that’s certainly unexpected. I hadn’t heard a word about it before.”
Harrison’s grip on her soft hand tightened, his tone uncharacteristically patient. “The timing wasn’t right before. We’ve just signed the papers. We’ll have a big ceremony back in Riverton soon.”
“Well, my congratulations, Mr. Lancaster!” the man said, quickly offering his best wishes before shifting the conversation. “I also heard you might be returning as head of the family
Anastasia perked up, listening intently.
But Harrison suddenly raised a hand, cutting the man off. Then he turned to her and said gently, “Ana, why don’t you head upstairs?”
Anastasia pouted a little. Was there something she wasn’t supposed to hear?
“Be good, I’ll be right up,” Harrison said, ruffling her hair before leaning down for a quick kiss.
That was all it took to coax a smile out of her. “Alright, fine!”
She finally let go of his hand and walked inside.
Logan started to follow, but she waved him off. “It’s okay, you stay here.”
If her husband was about to discuss business, Logan would be more useful at his side.
Harrison watched her skip away until she disappeared from sight, only then looking back. Somehow, watching her leave had already become a habit.
The middle-aged man watched the whole exchange, his mind spinning.
Was this really the same Harrison Lancaster? The man who never let anyone close? Looks like even a stone-hearted man can finally bloom. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ.net
The photography studio, though called a studio, was enormous, spanning three full floors. The famous photographer Harrison had invited-David-worked on the twenty-fifth floor.
Anastasia rode the elevator up.
She had barely stepped out before someone stopped her. “Miss, you’re on the wrong floor. This level is reserved for Mr. David’s use. You should go down two floors.”
Anastasia shook her head. “No, I have an appointment with David.”
The staffer looked surprised, then sighed apologetically. “I’m sorry, Miss, but Mr. David hasn’t taken any appointments. He’s already with a client.”
No appointments? Anastasia
frowned. She was sure her husband
had said David would be shooting
their wedding photos. Hadn’t he
own in just for them? So how could
there be another client?
Before she could say anything else, two people rounded the corner, chatting and
laughing. One of them was a familiar face.
“Anastasia?”
Lauren’s smile vanished the moment she saw her.
Anastasia clicked her tongue in annoyance.
Of all the people to run into while getting wedding photos. Just my luck.
“Ms. Brennan. What a coincidence,” she said coolly, her lips curling in a faint, icy smile.
Lauren’s expression soured immediately, her dislike and hostility for Anastasia plain as day.
The tension didn’t escape David,
who was with her. He shot
Anastasia an annoyed look and snapped at the staff “Didn’t I say now one else was allowed up here? How did she get in? Please show her out.”
