Chapter 534
Anastasia’s gaze swept across the room. “I hear you’re on strike?”
Her clear voice, though not loud, carried an undeniable authority that made it impossible for anyone to ignore her.
As the employees looked up from their phones and conversations, Anastasia continued, “As far as I know, the R&D department has always received the best benefits and compensation in this company. Unison Pharma has never mistreated you.”
Ms. Evelyn’s face darkened at her words. Unison Pharma had invested so much in these people, and instead of showing gratitude, they were now threatening the company. They were effectively Lauren’s private army, funded by Unison Pharma.
“Unison Pharma hasn’t mistreated us, but we only work for a capable boss!” a female researcher declared, stepping forward.
She looked at Anastasia with a cold, arrogant expression. “We came to Unison Pharma for Ms. Lauren Brennan. Only someone like her is worthy of being our boss.”
“But now, Ms. Brennan has been driven out, so we have no reason to continue working.”
Her tone became openly threatening. “You want us to come back to work? Fine. Bring Ms. Brennan back. She’s the only boss we recognize.”
Anastasia’s eyes narrowed. She had done her homework and recognized the researcher. Her name was Rose, one of the most brilliant team leads in the department. The company had spent a fortune to recruit her six months ago, even paying a hefty contract termination fee to her previous employer to settle a lawsuit.
But Rose, infatuated with Jonas, had forgotten the company’s generosity and willingly sided with Lauren.
Anastasia despised such ingratitude. Her lips pressed into a thin line.
Before Rose could say more, Anastasia held up a hand, cutting her off. “That’s enough. I only came here to find out what Unison Pharma did to deserve being kicked while it’s down.”
“Now I know. It’s not that the company did anything wrong. It’s that you’re all a bunch of ungrateful traitors.”
“You don’t want to work for me? Simple. As of now, you’re all fired. You can go wherever you please.”
Her words stunned the entire department.
*Fired? Has she lost her mind?*
Rose smirked, completely unfazed. “Fire us? You might want to think that through, Miss Anastasia. Do you think we’re like the other departments, easily replaced? afraid that if we walk out today, Unison Pharma will collapse by tomorrow.”
“You don’t need to worry about that. I have faith in the prodigies from the Global Harmony Medical Institute.”
*Global Harmony Medical Institute?*
Rose froze for a second, then
laughed mockingly. “The prodigies from Global Harmony are indeed more brilliant than us, but what does that have to do with Unison
Pharma? Surely you don’t think they’d come work for you.
Before she could finish, the head of HR appeared, personally leading a group of young people into the department. “This is the research department he said with a broad smile. “Your new workplace.
Rose’s eyes widened in disbelief.
She recognized some of them. They were actually from Global Harmony. The source of thɪs content is.net
*How Was Anastasia not bluffing?*
Rose’s head snapped toward Anastasia, her face a mask of incredulity.
Anastasia smiled faintly. “Why shouldn’t the students of Global Harmony work for me?”
Rose’s face turned pale. She finally realized they had overplayed their hand.
